What We Know About Jeremiah Duggar's New Girlfriend
Eleven kids and counting! Jeremiah Duggar is the newest member of the "19 Kids & Counting" family to go off the market. On October 27, 2021, his Instagram post revealed that he is in a committed relationship with Hannah Wissmann.
"Never been so happy. Never felt so blessed!!" he wrote. "Getting to know each other has been one of the greatest joys of our lives! We are excited to start sharing our story with all of you and to see what God has in store for our future." He included a white heart emoji and the hashtag #mygirlfriend. Wissmann shared the same photos and caption on her feed, and changed her profile photo to one of her and Duggar together.
This has been a big milestone year for the famous family. Duggar's twin brother, Jedidiah, married Katey Nakatsu in March 2021, and their younger brother Justin wed Claire Spivey just a month earlier. In September 2021, Jed announced that he and Katey are expecting their first child. Their sister Jessa also added to the clan when she became a mom for the fourth time. That leaves only eight of the 19 Duggar children without a partner, and of those remaining, five are still under 18.
Although Duggar hasn't said so explicitly, it's widely assumed that he and Wissmann are following the family tradition of courtship — a pre-engagement period in which the couple get to know one another through supervised outings and family activities (via the Duggars' website). If true, then it's likely he and Wissmann will be making wedding plans sooner rather than later.
Hannah Wissmann also comes from a large family
Hannah Wissmann has a lot in common with boyfriend Jeremiah Duggar. Like him, she comes from a large family — 12 brothers and sisters — and like the Duggars, the Wissmanns are accomplished musicians. Both families share a deep Christian faith, and the Wissmanns have a music ministry in which they play Christian and gospel numbers.
The Wissmanns' family website describes Hannah as the "energetic social butterfly" of the clan. "She loves spending time in the kitchen — trying new recipes and creating culinary masterpieces," they say. "Our home also greatly benefits from her interest in interior design and seasonal décor. She is one of our lead vocalists and skillfully adds her fiddle to our musical selections." Her other interests, according to her Instagram pics, include journaling, taking part in daily devotions, and being a devoted "auntie" to her 19 nieces and nephews.
Among those sending congratulations were several of Jeremiah's sisters. Jessa Duggar Seewald wrote, "Good lookin' couple right there," and Jana Duggar wrote, "Y'all are the cutest! So happy for you all!" Joy Duggar Forsyth indicated that this news was long awaited: "YES!!" she exulted. "So happy for you two!"
