Teresa Giudice Shares Exciting Relationship News
Teresa Giudice endured a devastating divorce from longtime husband Joe Giudice, much of which played out in front of the cameras on "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," as well as the duo's shocking arrests and subsequent jail time. Although they clearly took the breakup hard, particularly considering how disruptive it was to their home life, the Giudices have managed to figure out their co-parenting relationship in the intervening years. As Us Weekly notes, they split in late 2019 and finalized their divorce in 2020.
As a source confirmed at the time, "Teresa and Joe talked about their future when she and the girls were in Italy and decided it was best for them to separate." Joe was confirmed to be dating right off the bat, but it took Teresa a little while longer to hit her stride. However, in October 2020, just a month after the divorce was settled, the "Standing Strong" author went public with new boyfriend Luis Ruelas.
Her "RHONJ" co-stars were ecstatic over the new development, so they'll probably be even more thrilled with this latest one.
Teresa Giudice is taking a big step with her boyfriend, Luis Ruelas
People reports that Bravo star Teresa Giudice got engaged to her boyfriend of just over a year, Luis Ruelas, while the couple was enjoying a romantic vacation in Greece. Ruelas asked for Giudice's hand on Oct. 19, 2021, in a spectacular fashion, complete with a violinist, sparklers, candles, and roses — all culminating in a fireworks display.
"The choreographed fireworks display illuminated a 'Marry Me' sign as Louie got down on one knee," said a source, who described the proposal as "absolutely exquisite." The insider added that Giudice had no idea it was coming, either, but her BFF and former co-star Dina Manzo was there to witness the grand occasion, alongside hubby Dave Cantin. Naturally, they partied until the wee hours with a decadent spread and plenty of champagne.
Giudice and Ruelas went Instagram official in December 2020, with the "RHONJ" star describing it as the best part of her year at the time. However, they've actually been involved since around July of that year, recently celebrating their first anniversary. During an appearance on "Watch What Happens Live" (via YouTube), earlier in 2021, Giudice admitted that she was looking forward to a future with Ruelas and even considered him her "soulmate."
She also confirmed that her former husband was on good terms with Ruelas, so there was no issue there, either. Likewise, Giudice told E! News that the couple's daughters had given Ruelas their seal of approval, too.
