How To Achieve Leslie Grace's Low-Key Glam Look
"In the Heights" star Leslie Grace doesn't skip out on the glam. She looked pretty in pink at the 2021 Met Gala, and caught everyone's attention with her stunning fuchsia two-piece gown by designer Prabal Gurung (via ET). Vanity Fair crowned Grace's rosy makeup look as one of the best of the night. According to Hello!, celebrity makeup artist Denika Bedrossian created Grace's glowy flush using bareMinerals' Gen Nude Blonzer in the 'Kiss of Rose' shade.
After scoring the iconic role of Batgirl (via IMDb), Leslie Grace's star power is on the rise — which equals more red carpet appearances. The three-time Latin Grammy-nominated singer (via Sony Music) is also becoming a beauty icon. In a February 2020 interview with People en Español, Grace described her beauty routine. "In my day-to-day I am more simple," she explained. "I try not to wear a lot of makeup. I take care of my skin."
The "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" singer added that she prioritizes taking care of her skin from the inside out. "You are what you eat, so I try everything that has antioxidants," she told the outlet. "I live for naps! If you don't take care of yourself that shows, even if you put on the most expensive skin products or go to a place to try to have your life fixed in a day. I try to be good to myself because an artist's life is demanding."
To imitate Grace's low-key glam routine, get your skincare on lock first.
Leslie Graces plays up her natural features with lighter products
Leslie Grace broke down her makeup routine for Vogue's Beauty Secrets YouTube series. Before the makeup comes on, Grace preps her skin with cleansing products. "I used to have a lot of trouble with acne and I have to stay on my skin," she explained. "The more that I apply to my skin, the more it's susceptible to have all these different reactions. But something that's really important for me is cleansing properly. I love double cleansing ... I'm almost like intense about it a little bit."
For glowing skin, Grace uses products that nourish and increase blood flow, including Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Cleansing Oil and Foreo Luna 2 facial massager, respectively. She sneaks in extra hydration with Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Pro Facial Steamer.
In her tutorial, Grace highlighted beauty tips learned from the women in her life. "Through growing up in a salon and seeing how other women did their makeup, I started to learn, 'Oh, makeup and hair and clothes and all these things we use to express ourselves, they're adornments for what you already have.'" This inspired her to let her freckles shine through instead of covering them up.
Once her skin is fully pampered, Grace evens out her skin tone using full coverage liquid foundation and then applies highlighter and concealer. The singer-songwriter keeps her makeup low-key by repurposing products in multiple ways, including using Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Matte Bronzer as a bronzer and sculptor.
