According to Forbes, the Duchess of Sussex has given herself a fashion overhaul since she and her husband, Prince Harry, officially left their duties as senior members of the royal family in early 2020. Although the pair haven't been seen together on many occasions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they have started to emerge more and Meghan's clothing choices have left fans buzzing.

The outlet revealed that the duchess has been choosing more casual, yet chic pieces of her wardrobe to display in public. She's recently been spotted out wearing oversized jackets and wide-legged pants, leather leggings, and she even rocked a gorgeous white Valentino mini dress with a particularly short hemline while in New York City for the Global Citizen Live event in September 2021. It seems that Meghan is staying true to her style, but also wearing pieces that she feels comfortable and bold in, which is something that she may not have done if she were still a working member of the royal family.

During her controversial tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey back in March 2021, Meghan sat alongside Harry in a long, flowing dress with a flower print, which may have been sending a message about her rebirth after her royal exit. Now, one fashion expert claimed that Meghan may use fashion to represent her feelings, so fans should look closely.

Fashion expert Cachita Hynes of Style on the Spot exclusively told The List that Meghan Markle is using her style to convey messages about her feelings, a tactic that was on display while she was in the Big Apple with Prince Harry. "Meghan Markle has amplified more than her voice since leaving the UK as her recent tour through New York proved she is owning the freedom to be her authentic self without judgment or control," Hynes said. "There is an absence of palace protocol across this whole trip and I believe it suits both Harry and Meghan."

Hynes added that Meghan looked powerful and confident in her New York City wardrobe, which appeared to reflect how she felt during the trip, where she and Harry advocated for vaccine equality amid the COVID-19 pandemic. "Their stand on vaccine equality matched the equality the Duchess of Sussex was expressing through her fashion in this NYC trip," Hynes continued. "I think for women it is no different than for men, putting on a pantsuit feels powerful."

Fashion expert Cachita Hynes went on to tell The List that Meghan Markle rocked an "impressive lineup" of outfits during her tour of New York City with Prince Harry, which included glam, yet elegant pieces (via Page Six). "From an all navy Emporio Armani coat over a matching turtleneck and slacks, to her rolling up her sleeves while visiting a Harlem school in a Loro Piana coat and matching trousers that is made from sustainable fabrics and her timeless camel coat and pants by Max Mara," she gushed, it's safe to say that Meghan ticked off just about every fashion box.

However, although Meghan may have dressed a bit more edgy and modern while in the Big Apple, Hynes said the Duchess of Sussex's style will likely still remain classic. "I don't believe gone are the days of Meghan's soft classic style as there was proof of this with her white mini dress by Valentino at the Global Citizen Live concert," she said. 

It seems that Meghan may be looking to express herself through fashion, and if that's the case, her fans are absolutely loving it.
