Len Goodman Says This Contestant Is The One To Watch On This Season Of DWTS
"Dancing With The Stars" fans have come to know Len Goodman as the show's head judge who offers the harshest critiques of both the celebrity and professional dancers. Goodman has been a staple on "DWTS" since the series began and he's back for Season 30 alongside his fellow judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and former pro dancer Derek Hough. The Season has already been filled with intrigue and drama as fans have called out some contestants for having too much prior dance experience. In addition, participant Jojo Siwa has officially become the first person to ever team up with a same-sex partner.
Although Season 30 is still young, Goodman has already made headlines for his blunt and at times unrelenting comments and analysis of the performances. After Goodman seemed a bit harsh during the week two dances, professional dancer Emma Slater joked that he may not have gotten enough sleep the night before (via Us). "It seems like he might have missed out on a lot of sleep last night because his comments were all over the place," she said. Dancer Artem Chigvintsev also commented on Goodman's critiques. "He's very traditional, he wants to see more traditional steps, but Len's being Len," he said. "Len's known to being grumpy Len. He's just trying to live up to that expectation, I think. He's doing a great job."
However, Goodman is not all doom and gloom, as he recently revealed which Season 30 contestant he believes may be the one to watch.
Len Goodman offered high praise to Cody Rigsby
During the "Dancing With The Stars" Season 30 premiere last month, Len Goodman offered some insight into all of the dances. However, there was one dancer in particular that he gave high praise to. After Peloton instructor Cody Rigsby took the stage to perform with his partner Cheryl Burke, Goodman shared some words of encouragement with the fitness buff, telling him that he would be "the one to watch" during Season 30 (via Talent Recap).
However, things haven't been easy for Rigsby. During Week 2 of the competition, the judges were forced to score a recording of him and his partner doing their dance during a rehearsal after Burke tested positive for COVID-19. Just days later it was revealed that Rigsby had also tested positive for the virus. Rather than getting booted from the competition, Burke and Rigsby have continued to practice together and they will perform their Week 3 dance together from a remote location.
"We're going to be doing it from the comfort of our own home," Burke told "Good Morning America," per E! Online. "Look at that, I've turned our living room into a ballroom." The pair will be dancing to a Britney Spears song as they fight through adversity. "I'm feeling OK," Rigsby confessed. "But I'm so excited to dance for Britney week on Dancing With the Stars one way or the other." Fans can see Rigsby and Burke's remote dance during the October 4 episode of "DWTS."
