Everything We Know About Meghan McCain's New Job
The milestone 25th season of the daytime talk show "The View" premiered on Tuesday, September 7th (via ET Online). The season premiere marked the first time co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and Sara Haines were able to film in person since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. It's also the first episode to air without former co-host Meghan McCain, who left "The View" earlier this year to focus on other endeavors.
On her last day she wrote on Twitter, "[It] was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Thank you for allowing me the privilege of sharing my opinion with you every day. I wish my cohosts and the show the best of luck and good will going into season 25!" After weeks of wondering what's next for the conservative, McCain finally took to Twitter to announce that she's found a new position (via Daily Mail).
Meghan McCain is ready to get back to discussing the news
Earlier today, Meghan McCain revealed on Twitter that she will run a column at the Daily Mail. She tweeted, "Everything in my life these days is about going back to basics. I started as a columnist [and] am thrilled at the chance to return to it @DailyMail — I am so excited to work in a completely uncensored free space." The 36-year-old is a longtime reader of the publication and said in a statement that she admires its "global influence" and believes the brand is a true "juggernaut" (via Daily Mail). McCain added that she's excited to share her opinions without the fear of getting into disagreements.
She said, "I've always respected the way DailyMail.com tackles issues across the entire political spectrum and I'm looking forward to sharing my own opinions without fear or favor on the important issues that matter to our readers across the globe." McCain's first column will go live on September 20th and will feature her thoughts on the daily news. The Publisher and Editor-In-Chief of Mail Online Martin Clarke said, "Meghan's column will be a space for her to have her uncensored say on the news of the day whether it be political, breaking news, showbiz or issues based."
