A Closer Look At Shailene Woodley's Engagement Ring
Though Shailene Woodley's engagement is new to fans, it's certainly not too new to the couple. Woodley's fiancé, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, popped the question a while ago (via Brides) and naturally we want to know all the details about the ring.
We, as fans, only got wind of the engagement (and a slight peek of the ring) when Woodley visited "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on February 22, 2021. "We are engaged," she said. "But for us, it's not new news. It's kind of funny everybody right now is freaking out over it, and we're like, 'yeah, we've been engaged for a while.'"
As for what her ring looks like? Per Brides, it's a four to six-carat round-cut diamond set on a platinum band that cost a little over $90,000. She-esh. When it comes to celebrity rings however, Woodley's is sort of simple, said Toni Zehrer, the senior vice president and chief merchandising officer of Signet Jewelers (via Brides). In fact, it's common for celebrities to have over-the-top wedding bands (see Paris Hilton or Ariana Grande's rocks for example), noted Brides. But, Woodley's band is classic and timeless (even though it cost a lot).
Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodgers' engagement was meant to be
Not only were fans surprised that Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodgers were engaged, but some were even shocked the two were together. Woodley had just gotten out of a relationship with Australian rugby player Ben Volavola in April 2020 and Rodgers just ended his relationship with race car driver Danica Patrick a few months after then (via Brides). Shocker, right? The two officially got together during the mid-stages of the pandemic, the outlet added. And, the two were only together for a few months before he popped the question.
Though it does seem quick, no one can deny that Woodley is in love. She even told Jimmy Fallon during her February 22, 2021 appearance on his show that no one is more shocked about the engagement than she is (via PureWow). "He's, first of all, just a wonderful, incredible human being, but I never thought I'd be engaged to someone who throws balls for a living," she said. "Like, I never thought as a little girl, I was like, 'Yeah, when I grow up, I'm going to marry someone who throws balls! Yeah!' But he's really just so good at it."
When you know, you know. Right?
