Why This Bachelorette Fan Theory About Katie And Greg Has Twitter Talking
This week's episode of "The Bachelorette" was by far the most dramatic and talked-about of the season. It featured hometown dates for Katie Thurston and her three remaining men, per Us Weekly. After a successful date with Greg Grippo, which included meeting his family, things took an awkward turn. During their alone time, Greg confessed his love to Katie. However, when she didn't return the sentiment, things got tense. Greg was visibly upset and annoyed as he said his goodbyes to Katie.
The next day, Greg showed up at Katie's door and told her he was upset about how the date went. He said that she dismissed his feelings. Katie admitted that she didn't plan to tell anyone that she was in love with them until she made her final choice, and Greg accused her of being too caught up in "the journey" instead of putting her energy into their relationship. Katie apologized, but he continued to insist she was in the wrong before storming out and leaving her in tears.
After the episode aired, Katie seemed to hint about how she felt about the situation, sharing a post about gaslighting on her Instagram story (via E!). The breakup was so over the top that some fans now believe it was all an act.

Fans believe Greg faked his dramatic breakup with Katie
According to Page Six, "Bachelorette" fans had plenty to say about the explosive breakup between Katie Thurston and Greg Grippo during Monday's episode. Many viewers are now convinced that it was all fake on Greg's part. Greg, reportedly an aspiring actor, has fans believing that he was simply showing off his skills in hopes of furthering his career.
"My theory: Greg got further than he expected/wanted and pushed the eject button real quick," one person tweeted. "I knew #greggrippo was acting after his terrible monologue. I'm a casting director and have seen hundreds of actors indicate their way through a monologue. He was faking," another Twitter user commented. "And this s*** is fake. It's his audition for the rest of his career. I knew there was something off with this dude from Day 1," another tweeted. "Greg Grippo joins the acting ranks of legends after tonight's performance #bachelorette," a fourth Twitter user wrote.
Back in June, a source told The Sun that Greg was actually an actor and didn't appear to have good intentions when it came to finding love on the show. However, Greg's friend Kaitlyn Herman defended her pal on social media, revealing that the reality star was "broken" and cried "everyday" after the breakup (via Us Weekly). Meanwhile, Greg has yet to speak out about the rumors that he faked his feelings for the cameras.
