Simone Biles' Home Is Absolutely Gorgeous
Simone Biles has accomplished an incredible amount for someone who is only 24 years old. In addition to everything she's achieved at the Olympics — including earning seven medals over the course of two Olympic Games — Biles is also a five-time all-around world champion and has won a multitude of titles on individual events (via The New York Times). She's also a powerhouse out of the gym, and an inspiration to millions of people around the world.
Now that her time at the Tokyo Games is winding down, Biles will get to return to her absolutely gorgeous home in Houston, Texas. Biles bought the 4,000 square foot home in 2020, and it has four bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms. The home was built in 2019, and Biles has enjoyed showing it off on Instagram throughout the time she's owned the property.
The house is definitely nice. According to the New York Post, the features include "high-end appliances, quartz countertops, custom cabinets and an oversized island" in the kitchen, as well as "dual walk-in closets and a spa-like bathroom with a walk-in shower and a free-standing tub" in the main bedroom. Sounds like the perfect place for the storied athlete to relax and unwind.
Simone Biles definitely seems to love her home
Simone Biles is definitely fond of sharing photos of her home on her Instagram account. Biles, who has admitted that she is fairly frugal and worries about running out of money, reportedly paid less than $750,000 for the home (per the New York Post). In 2019, Biles admitted that she actually hates spending money. She explained to Maverick Carter, "I have a fear of going broke" to the point that she will go days without spending money, and then, "Of course, my gas light come on so I have to go get gas." In fact, Biles said she buys the necessities and maybe some Subway, and that's it (via CNBC).
Frugal or not, Biles will certainly have a comfortable place to come home to when she returns from the Tokyo Games. And from what it sounds like, she will have plenty of love waiting for her there, too. Biles reportedly lives with her boyfriend, NFL player Jonathan Owens, and her two dogs, Lilo and Rambo, in addition to Owens' dog, Zeus.
Home is particularly important after Simone Biles' Olympic struggles
Heading home to a comfortable, relaxing spot is going to be especially important to Simone Biles after her headline-grabbing experience at the Tokyo Olympics. As The Guardian notes, she rocked up to the event as one of the most decorated gymnasts of all time, if not the most, only to shockingly bow out mid-competition, blaming ongoing mental health issues. After cheering her teammates on from the stands, Biles made a surprise return for the balance beam event, ultimately emerging with a bronze medal after swapping out one of her most complicated moves for its less complex yet still impressive variety.
The champion gymnast admitted to feeling as though she was competing for other people, rather than herself. Getting cleared to take part in the games again involved several medical exams, alongside sessions with a sports psychologist. As Biles explained, "I wasn't expecting to walk away with a medal. I was just doing this for me and what happens happens." Internet opinion has been split right down the middle, which led the Olympian to stay away from social media lest she make things even worse for herself. Although she's likely dying to get home, once there, Biles will be forced to confront what really happened.
Simone Biles's outdoor area is just as chic as the inside
Gymnast Simone Biles has every right to be proud of the home she purchased with her own hard-earned cash at a time when most of us could only dream of doing so, because she's put major work into making it perfect, too. As Hello! magazine reports, the Olympian has kept fans abreast of her extensive garden transformation, which included installing a stunning swimming pool. In September 2020, she stood in the middle of the empty pool, which had moss growing on it, to show fans that the project was very slowly coming to fruition, with areas of the lawn clearly in the midst of being dug up at the time too.
Fans were shocked by how big the pool was, with one joking it was "bigger than my house," while another added: "That's ... bigger than my apartment," and a third took the cake, stating, "Your pool is bigger than my town lol." Just one month later, the pool was filled in and even included a raised hot tub. Surrounding the stunning feature were a large patio area and impressively manicured lawn, with trees dotted all around. Even when it's snowy, Biles is happy to sit outdoors and enjoy the view, particularly on her contemporary outdoor furniture set. Hanging outside also gives the champion gymnast an opportunity to admire the various features of her modern home.
