Ella Emhoff's Debut At Paris Fashion Week Is Turning Heads

While Kamala Harris is no stranger to the headlines, her stepdaughter has caught media attention during Paris Fashion Week. Ella Emhoff made her debut at the elite fashion event on July 7, 2021. USA Today reported that before the 22-year-old student made it to the runway, she studied art and designed knitwear. But here's why her debut at Paris Fashion Week is turning heads.

Independent noted that Emhoff walked in the Balenciaga's first haute couture catwalk show at Paris Fashion Week in over 50 years. In a post on Instagram she said, "Balenciaga couture, thank you/congrats to @demnagvasalia and the whole Balenciaga team truly amazing." Emhoff walked in the first show and exhibited some seriously striking all-black looks. Independent wrote that she was in pretty high company at the show, too. Fashion media mogul Anna Wintour, Kanye West, and James Harden were all in attendance and keeping a watchful eye from the front row.

This is the first year that Emhoff has walked in fashion weeks and her career has taken off in a little bit of a whirlwind.

Ella Emhoff has been rubbing shoulders with fashion's elite, and her modeling career has been going from strength to strength. However, she hasn't even been signed to an agency for a year yet. Yahoo! noted that Emhoff recently graduated from The New School's Parsons School of Design, and her career is really just getting started.

Independent reported that at the Kamala Harris' inauguration, Emhoff turned heads in a detailed tweed Miu Miu coat. Shortly after that, she signed with world-renowned modeling agency, IMG Models. The Daily Mail also noted that Emhoff walked in New York Fashion Week.

Emhoff may have attended some of the biggest fashion events in the world, but she told The New York Times that this wasn't in her original plan. "I was pretty surprised when everything with IMG was happening because when I was younger, I never saw that as being part of my timeline," she said. "As someone who, like a lot of young girls out there, had self-confidence issues, it is intimidating and scary to go into this world that is hyper-focused on you and the body."

And while Harris has been busy in government, Emhoff's boyfriend Sam Hine has been with her every step of the way. The Daily Mail wrote that he posted a video on Instagram with the caption, "@ellaemoff go off!!!"
