Don Cheadle Just Revealed Exciting Family News
Don Cheadle has revealed he and his longtime girlfriend, Bridgid Coulter, tied the knot. According to Page Six, the actor revealed details of his secret lockdown wedding during the June 30 episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."
"You texted me at the top of the year, I guess, and you told me that you just got married," Guest host Wanda Sykes revealed, who apparently assumed Cheadle and Coulter were already married. "And I was like, 'Oh, damn, the pandemic got to Don and Bridgid.'"
Speaking with Cheadle, the comedian continued, "I was like, 'What the hell happened, man?' I think I just texted something back, like, 'Hey, if you're happy, I'm happy for you.'" Sykes later quipped, "I was like, 'Cheadle went Hollywood.'"
During his appearance, the "Black Monday" star later admitted that he was initially confused by Sykes' text response. However, after the guest host explained herself, he later understood the reaction. "Yeah, I mean, that's understandable," the actor commented. "I hold you blameless."
Cheadle addressed headlines about his wedding on social media
Shortly after revealing the details of his nuptials on the hit daytime show, news of the wedding quickly spread online. Responding to headlines that stated he had "secretly married his longtime partner," Don Cheadle took to social media to clarify that his wedding was never intended to be a "secret."
"Secret"? you mean cause we didn't have people magazine cover it?," the actor wrote on Twitter on July 1.
Although Cheadle and Brigid Coulter have only recently walked down the aisle, the newlyweds share a long history together. According to Page Six, the pair first met in the early 1990s and were officially dating as of 1992. Throughout their careers, the two actors have appeared in several productions together, including "House of Lies," "Rosewood," and "Black Monday." Cheadle and Coulter also share two daughters together, Ayana and Imani, who are 26 and 25 years of age, respectively.
