The Truth About Influencer Hyram Yarbro's Skincare Line
Whether you like Hyram Yarbro or not, you have to admit that he's flipping the skincare industry on its head. The "skinfluencer" has over 6.8 million followers on TikTok and 4.59 million subscribers on YouTube, making him a force to be reckoned with even without the title of "dermatologist" or "aesthetician." His YouTube videos have educated millions of young followers, who drink in Yarbro's recommendations on ingredients and skincare products, knowing that he has researched each and every aspect about a product before giving it a thumb's up.
Normally when influencers and celebrities release their own skincare lines, viewers tend to think that their opinions become tainted with bias. Yarbro, however, promises that his new skincare line will live up to the highest of standards: his own. Yarbro partnered with The Inkey List to create his own line called Selfless by Hyram: Powered by The Inkey List, per The Cut. Truth be told, the products seem live up to the hype, as they contain high-quality ingredients and use carbon-neutral and fully recyclable packaging.
Selfless by Hyram Yarbro will support non-profit organizations to promote social change
In addition to providing his followers with top-of-the-line ingredients, Hyram Yarbro vows to provide his customers with transparency. Each product in his new skincare line will include not only a full ingredient list, but a "Sourcing Story," which describes where the ingredients are sourced and how that sourcing helps the environment, via Allure. For the Retinol & Rainbow Algae Repair Serum, for example, the algae is sourced in France, where each stem is hand cut individually to ensure that the plants can fully regrow, per Selfless by Hyram.
In addition, a percentage of each product purchased will be donated to a non-profit organization. As noted by The Cut, the Selfless brand will support organizations across four key areas for social change: the environment, health, education, and impact. As such, Selfless has partnered with the Rainforest Trust and the Thirst Project to help protect tropical rainforests from deforestation and provide clean drinking water to communities in Eswatini, Africa, per the Selfless website. But will Yarbro's skincare products help customers eliminate acne, smooth their skin, and treat other typical ailments? We'll find out when the line launches at Sephora on June 24, 2021.
