Whatever Happened To Diana Bunch From My 600-Lb Life?
TLC's "My 600-Lb Life" follows the stories of morbidly obese people who undergo incredible weight-loss journeys in a bid to turn their lives around. One memorable story featured on the reality show was that of Diana Bunch, who went on to become one of the show's greatest ever success stories (via Starcasm). But what is Diana up to today?
According to The Cinemaholic, Diana first appeared on the fifth season of "My 600-Lb Life" and weighed in at just over 600 pounds. During her initial meeting with bariatric surgeon Dr. Younan Nowzaradan, aka Dr. Now, it was revealed that the Seattle native also suffered from extreme swelling in her legs — a condition known as lymphedema — as well as open sores and blisters.
Per In Touch Weekly, the root cause of her food addiction was revealed to stem from childhood trauma, and during her stint on the show, Diana revealed that she was molested as a child. Growing up, Bunch said she turned to food as a comfort blanket and her addiction to food grew so strong that she was eventually discharged from the Air Force.

Diana's weight-loss journey didn't end on the show
Thankfully, Diana's appearance on the show was a successful one, and following successful gastric sleeve surgery, she managed to lose a staggering 265 pounds. However, her story didn't end there, and Diana continued with her new healthy lifestyle when the cameras stopped rolling. Appearing on the "My 600-Lb Life" spin-off "Where Are They Now?" it was revealed Diana had shed even more weight and had reached her goal of 195 pounds (via The Cinemaholic).
According to Starcasm, Diana lost a total of 425 pounds since the beginning of her "My 600-Lb Life" journey, which equates to a loss of 68.5% of her peak weight. As of 2020, she was the sixth most successful contestant on the TLC reality series of all time.
Although not as active as she once was, Diana had previously shared several photos of herself on social media, many of which suggested she had stuck to her new diet routine since leaving the show. Despite her "My 600-Lb Life" success, it appears her reality TV days are behind her. Speaking previously to a fan, Diana revealed, "Since I was at my goal weight when my second episode aired, there won't be any more follow-up" (via Starcasm).
