Bristowe thought that she would be interviewing a surprise guest — but the real surprise was way better than any special guest. "Jason's like, 'Kaitlyn, we're not doing a podcast.' And I'm like, 'You forgot to hit record, didn't you?!'" Bristowe recounted to Entertainment Tonight. "He was like, 'No, this is something else,' and he got up and I saw him bring out a ring box from the drawer."

"It was everything I could have asked for," Bristowe told the outlet about the proposal. "The words that came out of his mouth were insanely beautiful. We've never locked eyes like that in our lives. We were holding hands, so intense, and I was listening to his every word, but still blacked out."

Bristowe and Tartick met on Off the Vine

Per People, Kaitlyn Bristowe and Jason Tartick actually met on Bristowe's podcast — so it's completely fitting that he used "Off the Vine" as part of his proposal.

In January 2019 the pair publicly confirmed that they were an item and in May of that year Tartick moved from Seattle to Nashville so he could be closer to Bristowe. Upon his relocation, the couple moved in together with their puppy (via People).

"We're at the next step in our relationship where we want to grow even more and we can't do that long distance," Bristowe explained in an episode of "Off the Vine" at the time. "Cheers to new roommates! I can't wait to see what things you do that drive me nuts."

Per Entertainment Tonight, Tartick proposed with a 5.09-carat ring that he purchased at Paris Jewellers, a Canadian jeweler located near Bristowe's birthplace of Leduc, Canada.

"I had an idea of the kind of cut she wanted, but other than that, it was kind of just, like, go. They are great owners and they put so much effort into [making it]," Tartick told Entertainment Tonight. "They even took designs from Kaitlyn's dresses, and red carpets, to see what she likes, like working lace in, because she wears a lot of lace. They gave it a Kaitlyn, kind of like an edgy feel, but still classic."
