Here's Why Caitlyn Jenner Is Running For Governor Of California
Reality TV star and Olympic great Caitlyn Jenner is officially running for governor of California. Taking to Twitter to announce the news this week, Jenner shared the official press release notifying the world that she has filed all the initial paperwork and she's ready to go.
"California has been my home for 50 years. I came here because I knew that anyone, regardless of their background or station in life, could turn their dreams into reality," the statement read. "But for the past decade, we have seen the glimmer of the Golden State reduced by one-party rule that places politics over progress and special interests over people. Sacramento needs an honest leader with a clear vision." Explaining that she was ready to take on the challenge and become that very leader, she captioned the post, "I'm in!" before adding, "California is worth fighting for."
Jenner and her team are not happy with current Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom
As per the official press release, Caitlyn Jenner and her team are committed to "providing a roadmap back to prosperity to turn this state around and finally clean up the damage". They are clearly not happy with current Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom and want things to change as soon as possible.
According to Axios, the "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star has already hired Tony Fabrizio, a pollster on both of former President Donald Trump's presidential campaigns, Ryan Erwin, founder of RedRock Strategies, and Tyler Deaton, president of Allegiance Strategies, to be in her team, and many other experienced professionals to help her get to the top. Reportedly, the entire team believes the campaign is "totally winnable" and unsurprisingly, her status as a celebrity is expected to significantly impact her campaign and reach in a positive way.
