The Truth About Ronnie Ortiz-Magro's Latest Arrest
Ronnie Ortiz-Magro had an incredibly difficult time with ex-girlfriend and baby mama Jen Harley, with whom he fought almost non-stop, both in public and on the reality show "Jersey Shore: Family Vacation." When the couple finally called it quits in 2019, it seemed like the star's luck was changing, particularly when he found love again with Saffire Matos. "Jersey Shore" fans, who have followed Ortiz-Magro's journey for the past decade noticed he seemed much happier and healthier. "Family Vacation" even documented Ortiz-Magro's decision to get sober and attend therapy.
In May of 2020, as TMZ reported the "Jersey Shore" star seemed to own up to past wrongdoings against his ex Harley by pleading no contest to one count of domestic battery and another of resisting arrest. He got 36 months probation and 30 days of community service in Nevada, where he was residing at the time. Ortiz-Magro also made a $20,000 donation to a battered women's shelter. He had to compete a year-long domestic violence program, and was ordered to only have peaceful contact with Harley, who has a 3-year protective order against him. Unfortunately, the latest twist in the story puts the embattled reality star at risk of violating his probation.
Ronnie Ortiz-Magro may have violated his probation
As People reports, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro was arrested after allegedly physically attacking his partner, presumably current girlfriend Saffire Matos. The arrest took place Thursday morning, at 11:50 a.m. in Los Angeles, with the "Jersey Shore" star taken into custody "on suspicion of intimate partner violence with injuries and with priors," as per the LAPD. He was later released on $100,000 bail. Ortiz-Magro's daughter, Ariana, whom he shares with estranged ex Jen Harley, was put in her mother's care following the incident. His lawyer advised, "We have just learned of the new allegations against Ronnie and need some additional time to further investigate. As such, we will not be making any other statements at this time."
Ortiz-Magro and Harley had a tempestuous relationship, with accusations of cheating and abuse flying from both sides. Harley infamously dragged the reality star along the road from a moving car at one point (via Complex). Both have since moved on with new partners. Ortiz-Magro's ex was not involved in this latest incident, but she quickly traveled to California to be with Ariana. TMZ recently confirmed filming had resumed on "Jersey Shore: Family Vacation," at a swanky resort in Pennsylvania, after the first half of the season was captured in Las Vegas.
