Prince Louis Marks His Third Birthday With Adorable New Photo
The royal family has been having a tough time of it lately, following Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey, which exposed them in ways hitherto unimaginable. Then, the death of Prince Philip at the age of 99 further rocked the monarchy to its core, even if the funeral brought together warring brothers Harry and William for the first time in months. Lockdown is also affecting Queen Elizabeth, who's unable to perform her royal duties.
However, the royals are still finding plenty of reasons to smile. In particular, Kate Middleton is celebrating the third birthday and first day of preschool of her adorable son, Prince Louis. The Duchess of Cambridge took to her joint official account with husband William to share a sweet shot of their youngest child, who turns three today, rearing to go. Suffice to say, it's a much-needed break from everything that's been swirling around the family lately, for them and us alike.

The Instagram post, shared by the official account of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, began with the proclamation, "Three tomorrow!" alongside an emoji of a bicycle. The caption further notes the sweet shot, which shows Prince Louis riding his bike on the grounds of Kensington Palace with a huge smile on his face, was taken by his mother, Kate Middleton. Louis is wearing a little backpack, navy sweater, striped collared shirt, light blue shorts, and matching navy socks and sneakers in the pic. The pint-sized prince was heading off for his first day of nursery school. "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to share a new photograph ahead of Prince Louis' third birthday tomorrow," Kensington Palace advised in a statement (via People).
Louis is attending London's swanky Wilcocks Nursery School, where older sister Princess Charlotte went, too. At the time, an insider advised People, "They chose that nursery because they thought it would be an ideal first step for Charlotte's education, and they were impressed by the team who work there." Likewise, she and Prince George both currently attend Thomas's Battersea, which is located nearby. Middleton similarly shared adorable shots of Louis' siblings on their first days. Sky News advises children are typically welcomed at Wilcocks by their favorite toy or a photo from home, to assist with the transition.
