90 Day Fiance: Tarik And Hazel Clear Up Rumors About Their Polyamorous Relationship
90 Day Fiancé couple Hazel and Tarik have been on quite the relationship roller coaster ever since they first met online via a dating app, and then in person, which was documented on Season 2 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days.
Things got even more complicated for the couple after they briefly broke up, and Tarik started a relationship with a woman named Minty, who he also met online.
"After Hazel and I had broken up, I met Minty. She's really pretty. She got a little bit of pizazz to her," Tarik said in a confessional (via InTouch Weekly). "We had a lot in common. I wouldn't say I was falling in love...immediately, but I was falling in like." After Tarik realized he still had feelings for Hazel — who in the past has been open about being bisexual — the three of them tried being in a relationship together, but as fans know, that didn't work out at all, and Hazel's jealousy issues got the best of her.
Tarik and Hazel addresses rumors about their polyamorous relationship
After host Shaun Robinson asked if Hazel is still hoping to find a girlfriend in the U.S., fellow castmate Julia says she's confused about the situation and joked that Tarik will have "two girlfriends now" (via TV Insider). However, that didn't sit well with Tarik, and he set the record straight right then and there.
"No, no, no. I don't have two girlfriends. I have one wife. Let's get that clear," he explained. "Relationships that have more than one person, the first thing people think is 'threesomes, threesomes, threesomes!' It's not all about sex. That's not it, and it wasn't for us. They can have a girlfriend or boyfriend of their choosing and still have a loving, moral, upstanding marriage like everyone else. We do what we want."
And although Hazel and Tarik felt judged by some of the other cast members for their unique relationship, Tarik stands by his relationship choices, telling the camera, "Hazel and I, we don't have to follow anyone's rules. In some ways, I think we had less problems than most of them did and there's only two of them! So who's more f–ked up: me and Hazel and Minty, or y'all?"
