Kimberly Schlapman: The Country Star Is Worth More Than You Think

Before country star Kimberly Schlapman started harmonizing with her Little Big Town group, she was just a little girl from Georgia with dreams of being a big-time musician. Schlapman used to sing in her local church and compete in junior high talent shows before moving to Alabama to pursue her singing career. While studying at Samford University, Schlapman met Karen Fairchild and began making music with her (via Cooking Channel). About a decade later, Phillip Sweet and Jimi Westbrook joined the duo and formed the critically acclaimed country quartet.

Since forming Little Big Town in 1999, the Nashville-based vocalist has enjoyed a long and successful career in the limelight. In 2002, LBT released their self-titled debut album. Since then, the group has produced nine studio albums in total, including the 2020 album Nightfall, which climbed to the top of the Billboard Country Albums chart. As of this writing, the group has three Grammy awards, eight CMA awards, eight ACM awards, and many others (Via Wide Open Country).

Kimberly Schlapman is more than a Grammy-winning artist

In addition to creating a catalog of critically acclaimed music for Little Big Town, Kimberly Schlapman is also an author. In 2015, Schlapman released her first cookbook, Oh Gussie!: Cooking and Visiting in Kimberly's Southern Kitchen, with author Martha Fosse. According to the book's description, Schlapman's traditional Southern recipes are perfect for tailgate parties, potlucks, and Sunday brunches. The cookbook is a perfect fit for Schlapman's brand, considering she had her own show on the Cooking Channel. The series ran for three seasons and even featured appearances from other members of Little Big Town (via IMDB).

For Schlapman's second book, she wrote about something close to her heart. In October 2020, she released her first children's book, A Dolly For Christmas: The True Story of a Family's Christmas Miracle. The story is based on Schlapman's struggle with infertility and how her daughter Daisy's prayers changed her family's lives. She told Sounds Like Nashville, "This story is straight from our hearts. It is totally true. Every bit of it told from a child's eyes, from Daisy's perspective, and I couldn't wait to share it with people."

Considering her many professional pursuits, it's no wonder her net worth is estimated at $12.5 million, as of this writing (via The Celebs Closet).
