Here's Who Kanye West Is Going To Date After His Divorce From Kim Kardashian

When Kim Kardashian and Kanye West wed in 2014, it seemed like maybe this match was made in heaven. But seven years and four kids later, Kardashian filed for divorce against West in February 2021, citing irreconcilable differences (via The Guardian). Two months later, West responded to the divorce petition, also citing irreconcilable differences and asking for joint custody of their children North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm (via Us Weekly).

So with the West-Kardashian union receding further and further into the rearview mirror, the big question is: Who will they date next?

A source has told Page Six that West is hoping to next date "an artist and a creative person" because it's important to the rapper and fashion designer that the pair "can speak the same language to each other."

As for Kardashian, her mind isn't on dating at the moment. An insider explained, "She's not dating anyone because, if she were, it would be a career move. She can't go to restaurants now on dates and have paparazzi [due to the pandemic]. She can't date quietly; she doesn't even understand what that would be like."

Another source added, "We're talking about someone who is already one of the most famous people in the world ... she doesn't need anyone to make her more famous."

A timeline of Kim and Kanye's relationship

The hints that a Kardashian-West split was imminent came in summer 2020, when Kim Kardashian reportedly put the famed divorce lawyer Laura Wasser on retainer (via Us Weekly). Wasser also handled the SKIMS founder's divorce from basketball player Kris Humphries in 2013 (via Wall Street Journal).

Reports that Kardashian had hired Wasser dovetailed with West often trending on Twitter for his signature controversial remarks, as well as his decision to spend much of the pandemic in Wyoming, away from the mother of his children. The dissolution of their relationship was among the topics covered during the latest and final season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians

Although Kardashian had initially stated she didn't want to discuss her relationship on the show, she ultimately revealed, "Kanye's been in Wyoming. He's been posting a lot of things on social media, so that is a little bit frustrating. But you just have to kind of separate yourself from what's going on at home, and what's going on the internet. So, I'm trying to go to Wyoming so I can be with him."

Despite everything, E! News reports that "Kanye's court papers seem to indicate that the separation is indeed 'amicable,' as the insider initially described it" back in February, which, after all, is likely the best thing for West, Kardashian, and the entire West-Kardashian clan.
