The Sopranos actor Joseph Siravo died after a "long, courageous battle with colon cancer" on April 11, 2021, at 66 years old, according to USA Today. Best known for his role as Tony Soprano's father, Johnny, on the renowned show, fans and the star's closest friends are taking to social media to share touching words.
Actor Garry Pastore broke the news of Siravo's death on Instagram, sharing a photo of the late actor alongside a caption which read, "RIP my dear friend, who fought an incredible fight. I will miss you. See you on the other side." In response to a fan's comment, he added, "He was a true gent to boot and as you well know hard to find that mutual bond and sincerity...Acting has always been a passion and finding true friends that lift you up and support was often difficult."
Siravo's legacy will live on forever, either through The Sopranos or his many other beloved roles. His acting expertise was put on full display in the 1993 film, Carlito's Way, appearing alongside Al Pacino and Sean Penn (via IMDb).
