Inside Serena Williams' Absolutely Stunning Home
Serena Williams, who shares daughter Olympia with husband and Reddit founder, Alexis Ohanian, may be a tennis star, but she also has an impressive real estate portfolio (via Haute Residence). Over the years, her properties have included homes in Florida, California, and even Paris, France, and, recently, she gave Architectural Digest a tour of her new home north of Miami (via YouTube).
According to AD, Serena lived with her sister, Venus Williams, off and on for 20+ years. "I was moving away from Venus for the first time in my life, so I wanted it to be really meaningful." She actually worked with Venus' interior design company, V Starr Interiors, which she said could "get inside my brain" and "show you my vision." Serena went on to say, "You have to know your lane. I'm really good at playing tennis; I'm not as good at interiors. But I was able to learn through just watching Venus" (via YouTube).
After Serena purchased this 14,500-square-foot house, Architectural Digest reported that she moved in last July, after three years of renovating.
Serena Williams' house includes an art gallery, a trophy room, a sauna, and an infinity pool
The tour of Serena's space, which was featured on Architectural Digest's YouTube, showed off some very impressive features. Instead of a formal living room, there is an art gallery that has unique pieces, such as one with a moon rock by Radcliffe Bailey, doors from Nepal, and artwork created by the tennis pro herself.
Of course, there is a trophy room to show off all of Serena's awards, as well as memorabilia like Wheaties Cereal boxes on which she is showcased. Another fun aspect of this celebrity house is a media room/bar/karaoke room, and she says she sings on the stage quite often with her daughter.
AD's magazine also stated that the home has heated floors in the bathrooms, a sauna in the gym, a wine cellar, and an infinity pool (via Architectural Digest). V Starr worked with Serena's private chef, too, in order to include Gaggenau wall ovens, an Officine Gullo cooktop, and a customized gold and black marble backsplash in the kitchen (via Architectural Digest).
