Why The Timing Of Bethenny Frankel's Engagement News Is Raising Eyebrows
After speculation spread like wildfire across the internet that Real Housewives of New York alum Bethenny Frankel had gotten engaged to her on-again-off-again boyfriend Paul Bernon, People magazine confirms the rumor is true. This, after Frankel's divorce was finally, well, finalized in January, after years of contentious back and forth with her ex, Jason Hoppy.
Indeed, now we are pretty positive the massive ring the Skinnygirl mogul was seen wearing on the beach in Florida means she is betrothed to Bernon — but the timing of the relationship milestone is raising some eyebrows, especially among the TV star's former RHONY co-stars. Indeed, it turns out the news that the couple is altar-bound broke on the same day the trailer for the 13th season of the Bravo show was released (via Page Six).
As a source noted about the current cast members — Eboni K. Williams, Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan, LuAnn de Lesseps, and Leah McSweeney (via ET) — "They're all confused why she's still obsessed with RHONY and would orchestrate her engagement news to come out the same time as the trailer for the show."

As the source also told Page Six about the current Housewives' feelings toward Frankel, "Bethenny is just being her petty self, but she can't take away the cast's happiness or how hard they worked this season during the coronavirus pandemic." To be fair, we don't know how the ladies feel about Frankel's news from what they have said directly — perhaps they are all happy for her and could care less about the timing of the news!
But, it's worth noting production on this season of the show actually shut down not once, but twice — first, in November of 2020, and again in January of this year after members of the cast and crew tested positive for COVID-19.
It's also worth noting that at time of writing, we still don't have an official confirmation of the engagement news from Frankel herself, although, she isn't denying what multiple outlets are reporting about her betrothal to Bernon. Finally, is it feasible that she would know when the trailer was being dropped if she is no longer affiliated with the show? Only time will tell what is real, and what isn't when it comes to this story.
