Ant Anstead Reveals How He's Healing From His Divorce
Fans were shocked when Christina Haack (formerly Anstead) of Flip or Flop fame announced that she and her husband, Ant Anstead, were divorcing after less than two years of marriage. "Ant and I have made the difficult decision to separate," Haack wrote on Instagram last September in a now-deleted post (via Today). "We are grateful for each other and as always, our children will remain our priority. We appreciate your support and ask for privacy for us and our family as we navigate the future."
It later came out that the divorce had not been Anstead's idea, and that he was struggling with the end of his marriage. "It really hit me hard," he told People in December. "If you ask anybody that knows me properly, they know that I give myself fully. I had so much love for her."
Anstead's path to healing hasn't been easy, but he's been doing a lot better lately.
Ant Anstead considers himself 'a forward-facing positive person'
"There's a choice that we all make," the TV personality recently told E! News. "You either dwell in it or you look forward and I'm a forward-facing positive person. I've got so many great things on the horizon... It's been six or seven months so I've really had a chance to reset, rethink, rebuild and now I'm so ready to find a house and start fresh."
Anstead explained that his faith has been instrumental in helping his healing process. "I've used my faith as a good way to realize I'm so incredibly blessed..." he said.
Anstead is also focusing on his children, and has a strong support network of friends who have helped him through this difficult time. This is especially true of his youngest child, Hudson, who is just 1 year old. "He's been such an important influence on me because I've given myself fully to him," he said. Anstead's Instagram account is brimming with pictures of Hudson, and the proud dad revealed in a post that their one-on-one time together includes daily walks on the beach at sunset.
