Dua Lipa Brought Major Sparkle To The Grammy Awards
Dua Lipa has a big night ahead of her. The 25-year-old pop sensation is nominated in six categories: Best Album and Best Pop Vocal album for her sophomore album, Future Nostalgia; Best Song, Best Record, and Best Solo Pop Performance for "Don't Start Now"; and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for "Un Dia (One Day)" (per the Recording Academy). It's pretty amazing when you consider Dua won the Grammy for Best New Artist just two years ago in 2019. Dua will also perform at the socially distanced ceremony.
Just ahead of the show, Dua took the red carpet looking absolutely flawless. She wore a stunning, bedazzled Atelier Versace gown. The form-fitting, form-flattering gown featured a butterfly-motif bodice that she paired with some sparkly jewelry and a natural face of makeup. Fans immediately hit Twitter demanding that the artist win some best-dressed accolades for the look, in addition to the one's she up for in tonight's show.
Dua opened up about what's next for her
During a red carpet interview, Dua Lipa opened up about having the chance to receive direct feedback on her highly praised sophomore album. "Because I was at home and not touring or doing all this work that I really got to take it all in and really feel the response from everyone around and really hear [what people] thought of the record," she explained (per People).
"I never thought this would happen in a million years — that I would be promoting my record from my sofa or setting up green screens in my living room," Dua continued. "I do feel like I've learned so much, I've grown so much, I've been thinking outside the box. I just didn't let it stop me from trying to come up with interesting ways to create new dimensions for this record and still make it fun for everyone at home."
Fans are eager for more new music from the star and while she teased that she's always got something up her sleeve, she shared that she wouldn't be releasing an album in 2021. What Dua will release, however, is likely to thrill her fans, no matter how big or small.
