Whatever Happened To Craig Wayne Boyd From The Voice?
Though The Voice has gone through many changes and behind-the-scenes drama over the years, its judges definitely know how to pick stars. Country singer and songwriter Craig Wayne Boyd stole America's heart when he first auditioned for the singing competition in 2014. The Nashville native won the season, scoring his mentor and longtime judge Blake Shelton another win and cementing his place in The Voice history. His single from the show, "My Baby's Got a Smile on Her Face," even debuted at No 1. on the Hot Country Singles Chart, per Billboard.
But where is Boyd now? While the singer seems to have faded from the major spotlight, he hasn't stopped making music. After The Voice, Boyd went on to record Top Shelf, a 13-track album in 2017. He also created the band Texas Hill with country artists Casey James and Adam Wakefield in 2019, per Taste of Country. Their first single "Darkest Sky" was released in 2020, and the band is going on tour this March.
As for Boyd's personal life, The Voice winner has some big news: He and his wife Taylor are expecting another baby in the spring of 2021.
Craig Wayne Boyd has a large and growing family
This isn't Boyd's first rodeo when it comes to babies. The country singer and his wife Taylor already have three children together: 5-year-old Dakota Lynn, 3-year-old Graydon Scott, and 1-year-old Boston James. Boyd is also dad to 8-year-old Jaxon Wayne, from another relationship.
In a recent interview with People, Boyd revealed that his children are very excited. "Our five-year-old daughter had been praying for another baby all quarantine long, and her prayers were answered!" he said. The couple tried to keep the news on the DL until they were ready. But according to Taylor, fans started predicting the pregnancy before the announcement. "It's like they had a sixth sense!" she exclaimed. Now that the word is out, however, Boyd has been proud to share it on social media. "Can't sleep!!" he wrote in a recent Instagram post. "While I'm trying to cuddle my better half, a wild child must be two steppin."
Though the family is overjoyed, Taylor hinted to People that this may very well be the final baby to join the Boyd bunch. "It's going to be a crazy ride, but we are so excited for the grand finale ... and this will be the grand finale!" she said. If Boyd and his flair for performance have anything to say about it, it'll be a grand finale indeed.
