Jessa Duggar Seewald And Husband Ben Have Something To Say About Their Family
The ever-expanding Duggar family is about to grow again by one! Jessa Duggar Seewald and her husband, Ben Seewald, just announced to Entertainment Tonight that they're expecting their fourth child. The couple affirmed that both Jessa and the baby are thriving, and hinted at a due date: "We are so grateful to God for the precious gift of a new life! The kids are delighted, and we can hardly wait to welcome this little one into our arms this summer," they said. The new little Seewald will join sibs Spurgeon, 5, Henry, 4, and 1-year-old Ivy.
The news is doubly joyful for the family, following a heartbreaking miscarriage that Jessa suffered last year. In August, rumors started flying that she might be pregnant again — photos showed her wearing a suspiciously loose dress — but she quickly shut them down, saying, "There's no baby behind the bump — only tacos" (via CinemaBlend). It also means grandparents Jim Bob and Michelle will be busier than ever. Their son Joseph is currently expecting his third child with wife Kendra, and daughters Jinger and Joy-Anna had babies last year (via InTouch Weekly).
Jessa shares her parents' love of large families
Fans of TLC's 19 Kids and Counting and its spinoff, Counting On, know that Michelle and Jim Bob are conservative Christians who believe that God decides how many children a family should have. Most of their adult children share their belief, and the tendency among the family is to wed young and become parents as soon as possible. Jessa married Ben in 2014 at age 22 and had their first child a year later (via The Sun). Her siblings have largely followed suit, with brother Joshua leading the pack at six children (via Entertainment Tonight); all the married Duggars currently have at least one child.
Inquiring minds will no doubt be asking whether this will be the last baby for the Seewalds. At the moment, that thought probably isn't foremost on their minds, but it's possible that the couple will be "counting on" for a while yet. As CheatSheet has reported, Jessa once mentioned on the show that she wanted to "adopt a lot" of children and possibly have as large a family as her mother. So while fans will continue to look for baby bumps as the years go on, for now, Jessa is happily content to wait for her rainbow baby.
