Why Phoebe Dynevor Says She Wouldn't Want To Date Regé-Jean Page
People have been shipping Phoebe Dynevor and Regé-Jean Page since Bridgerton dropped on Netflix in December and it's easy to see why. It's more than the fact that their Bridgerton characters, Daphne and Simon, the Duke of Hastings, fall in love. The chemistry between the two is also off-the-charts, as exhibited by Bridgerton's many steamy scenes.
Page denied that there's anything more than a strong acting partnership between them last month, but it hasn't kept fans from hoping for something more to develop. "I think everything you need to know is on camera," he told Access. "That's why we presented it so beautifully for you. All the sparks that flew off of the beautiful scripts that we were handed, and so I think that the sparky scripted material are more than enough."
Dynevor also recently denied the rumors, telling You Magazine, "I'd love to say there was really something between us. But no, it has always been strictly professional."
Phoebe Dynevor thinks 'it would be very complicated' if she and Regé-Jean Page fell for each other
While the news is disappointing for fans, Dynevor says it's all for the best. "There was so much pressure on us to get it right that it was all about the work," she said. "We have a really professional working relationship. I'm glad for that, actually. It would be very complicated if it went further."
Not only are Dynevor and Page not an item, but she revealed that she's never fallen for a co-star before although she's "intrigued" by the premise.
That doesn't mean fans should hold out hope she and Page will eventually fall for each other. Not only do they seem determined to keep things professional, but there's also the fact that Page was recently spotted with Emily Brown, a writer and soccer player with whom the Daily Mail claims he shares a London home. The two appear to be in a pretty serious relationship, so it looks like Daphne and Simon's romance will remain solely on-screen.
