This Strange 90 Day Fiance: Love Games Couple Is Turning Heads
There have been a fair share of strange couples throughout the many 90 Day Fiancé spin-offs. From couples with extreme age differences, to ones that have totally clashing personalities, to others that don't speak the same language. But there's one couple that has always left viewers feeling slightly uncomfortable throughout the many seasons in which they have appeared. Here's a spoiler: they're from the same family.
Colt Johnson and his mother, Debbie, have been an untouchable duo throughout the various relationships that Colt has navigated on 90 Day. Debbie is the ultimate "helicopter mom," actively admitting to sabotaging his relationships and accusing Colt's suitors of not understanding the "bond" that she and Colt share (via ScreenRant). Based on Colt's many failed relationships and his own dose of self-sabotage, Debbie continues to be the only woman in his life — which is why it shouldn't be too much of a surprise that they showed up as a couple in Discovery Plus' 90 Day Fiancé: Love Games.
Things got awkward for Colt and Debbie
This "new show where the contestants tell all ... features 24 couples from the 90 Day Fiancé universe and pits them against each other to see who knows their partner best" (via YouTube). The show seeks to prove how well the couples know each other, with questions such as, "What's something your partner thinks they're good at, but really they aren't?" and "When is your anniversary?" But in classic 90 Day Fiancé fashion, there's a bit of drama as well — indeed, host Sukanya Suki Krishnan can't help but get a little cheeky with questions like, "If I could date anyone from the '90 Day Fiancé' universe other than my partner, who would it be?"
While things are flirty and fun with the 23 other romantically-involved couples, there's a distinct silence in the room when things turn to Colt and Debbie, as the only family-linked couple. Things get even more awkward when his two exes, Jess and Larissa, are both present and begin ganging up on him and Debbie.
One Twitter user said what we were all thinking with this tweet: "Colt and Debbie are giving me Psycho and Bates Motel vibes."
