Why Sarah Trott Left The Bachelor
After an emotionally intense night of The Bachelor, a contestant widely known as a front runner decided that it was time to pack her bags. As with many seasons of the show, the drama inside the house of contestants got to be too much to handle for Sarah Trott.
It all began when Trott received a one-on-one date with bachelor, Matt James, and promptly accepted a rose, E! Online reports. During the dinner portion of the evening, James prodded Trott to open up about her life — much to her dismay. Her inability to share seemed to be a sticking point until she mustered up the courage to reveal her father's diagnosis with ALS. Visibly uncomfortable and nervous to share, Trott quickly felt more comfortable as it became clear that the two had a connection.
But, following her vulnerable conversation, watching other contestants date James proved more difficult than she initially realized. On a group date, the women read love scenes to the Bachelor as Trott became more and more uncomfortable.
"I just feel like emotionally exhausted. I should have known though that like this would trigger me," she said during the episode. "Just because in my past dealing with faithfulness and, like, commitment issues and, like, jealousy and all of those feelings and emotions are coming back so quickly. In my heart, I know all these special moments we had and it like kills me to think like he's having these special moments with other women, too."
Things got worse when the other contestants noticed
Trott became so uncomfortable that she crashed the after party to get reassurance from James. Her appearance didn't go over well with the other women, Us Weekly reports. On top of her fainting during the rose ceremony a few nights prior, her housemates had a lot to say.
Afterwards, Trott stayed in her room — to which many took offense. Feeling insecure about her relationship with James and worried about spending time away from her father, Trott with staying on the show or going home.
When she came downstairs to apologize, the ladies quickly ganged up. Victoria said Trott fainted for attention and took time away from the other contestants as a manipulation tactic, while Kaili lamented that Trott already had her date with James (via Cosmopolitan). Eventually, the news broadcaster decided to go home.
In response to the ganging up that took place in the house, Trott took to Instagram. Taking aim at self-titled "Queen" Victoria, the graphic read "Real queens fix each other's crowns." The caption reads, "We see the quote 'women supporting women' all the time on the internet but what does that really mean? To me, it means sharing encouragement instead of judgment."
She continued, "Refraining from negative comments even when it's sometimes easier to say something mean instead of something nice. It means supporting a female-owned business and paying full price. It means supporting a younger woman in your industry and offering guidance and support when appropriate. It means valuing community over competition" (via Us Weekly).
