Tom Hanks Looks Very Different With New Hairstyle
Tom Hanks has one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood, and, well, the world. But the star of beloved movies like Forrest Gump and Cast Away recently adopted a new look for a movie — and let's just say his new hairstyle, or lack thereof, is a bit of a shock for fans.
During a remote appearance on The Graham Norton Show, the movie star revealed his hair is basically gone — although he was wearing a baseball cap most of the time (via CNN). For a moment, the brave star did remove his hat to reveal his basically-bald head. And as always, Hanks showed his good natured sense of humor in the humbling moment.
As he explained, the 'do is a side effect of his playing Colonel Tom Parker in an upcoming movie about Elvis. According to Cinemablend, the film will center around the relationship between Parker, who was Presley's manager, and the iconic performer. While the movie sounds fascinating, it seems Hanks is less than thrilled about the hairstyle that came along with the part.
Don't worry Tom Hanks — your hair isn't that bad!
During his chat with Norton, who is a huge TV star in the U.K. according to Entertainment Daily, Hanks told viewers, "Let me show you the horrible haircut I have to have in order to portray Colonel Tom Parker." He removed his cap and said, "Check out this horrible ... Do you see that? Look at that thing?"
The 64-year-old then joked, "I just scared the children. I want to apologize." Meanwhile, we are pretty sure he is being harder on himself than anyone else would be. Especially since we are used to seeing the mega-star transform the way he looks for film roles, from his chillingly poignant turn in Philadelphia, to his eerily on-point portrayal of Chesley Sullenberger in Sully.
And hey — at least he didn't pull a George Clooney and end up in the hospital due to a transformation for a movie role. Because we are pretty sure having a mostly-bald head is not a medical problem.
