Everything We Know About The Bachelor's New Filming Location
The COVID-19 pandemic has changed Bachelor Nation in many ways. Gone are the Bachelor mansion and romantic dates to exotic locations. To keep everyone safe, the shows had to be filmed differently, specifically at resorts where everyone lived in isolation.
Clare Crawley and Tayshia Adams' season of The Bachelorette were filmed at La Quinta Resort & Club in Palm Springs, Calif. Matt James' season of The Bachelor was not filmed at the same resort, but rather at The Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Farmington, Pa. Per Elite Daily, the resort is pretty swanky and boasts a 2,000-acre property.
It might not be the Bachelor mansion but it's certainly not boring. There's a lot to do on a date at the resort as it boasts loads of amenities and recreational options including a golf course, casino, several restaurants, a boutique hotel, tennis courts, a bowling alley, a climbing wall, and even a carousel.
The Bachelor's new filming location has been spotted on the franchise before
The resort has been featured on the franchise before — JoJo Fletcher stayed at the resort's Chateau Lafayette during season 12 of The Bachelorette.
While it's a big change, the location shakeups have actually helped the franchise push its creative boundaries. Host Chris Harrison spoke about how filming The Bachelorette in a new location changed things in a good way. "There are some things that maybe we take out of this," he told The Hollywood Reporter. "That is, the intimacy and the pressure-cooker in that fishbowl environment. There's not the release-valve of, 'We're going to Bora Bora and have two days of travel and an off day.' That takes you out of the element a little bit. Instead, being there at the La Quinta resort the whole time, there's no off switch. It was just about dating and falling in love, and there's really something to that."
No doubt we will see the same thing on Matt James' Bachelor season.
