Inside Jackie Cruz's Tumultuous Friendship With Kourtney Kardashian
When actress Jackie Cruz started getting attention for her role as Marisol 'Flaca' Gonzales on Orange Is The New Black (per IMDb), she looked familiar to some. That is because she had briefly graced TV screens before. But Cruz was not playing a role when she appeared on Kourtney and Kim Take Miami in 2009.
According to Bustle, Cruz and Kourtney Kardashian met while Cruz was living in Miami. The two signed up for the same art class. She appeared on three episodes after striking up a friendship with Kardashian. In one episode in particular, the two engaged in a steamy make out session in a Miami club after hours of drinking and dancing. At the time, Kardashian was not embarrassed by the moment airing. "Jackie is carefree and fun," she said, per Us Weekly. "She just kind of like gets you and has this spell almost."
However, not long after, Kardashian began singing a different tune. "I'm so embarrassed. I can never talk to this girl again," she said. "Jackie is calling me non-stop and I'm so embarrassed I made out with her — I did not mean to lead her on."

Years later, where do the two television stars stand? According to Bustle, Jackie Cruz still considered her and Kourtney Kardashian to be friends in a 2014 interview. "Kourtney is such a sweet person, and yes we are still friends," Cruz shared. "Now and than we text each other to see how we are both doing."
These days, however, it seems it is a little harder to keep in touch. In 2018, Cruz shared that she and Kardashian had fallen out of touch during an appearance on People TV's Chatter. "I honestly don't keep up because I don't have time," Cruz admitted. It's likely hard for Kardashian, too, with her three kids and burgeoning lifestyle brand consuming most of her time.
Losing touch does not mean there are any hard feelings between the two women, though. "I love Kourtney, she's always — when we worked together she was a sweetheart," Cruz added. "She continues to be a sweetheart. I just haven't — we haven't reconnected, but call me girl!"
