We have lost a great one in Alex Trebek. The longtime Jeopardy! host passed away Sunday. The show announced his death via Twitter: "Jeopardy! is saddened to share that Alex Trebek passed away peacefully at home early this morning, surrounded by family and friends. Thank you, Alex." Fans of Trebek know the 80-year-old was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in March of last year (via People).

Many expressed sadness and disbelief, while others thanked Trebek for providing entertainment over 8,200 episodes and 37 seasons that the iconic game show aired (via Variety).
