Melania Trump's Surprising Move At The Debate Is Raising Eyebrows
Imagine this scenario if you will: After a particularly trying evening, a husband tries to hold his wife's hand. Wife pulls her hand away and walks in front of husband. Husband gives her a small shove on the small of her back, as she pulls ahead of him.
If that scene played out at a suburban mall, you'd probably shrug and think, "Well, those two have issues." But if that scene played out on national television, and involved President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, we're guessing that your thoughts would probably run in a more speculative direction — which is exactly why the internet went into overdrive when they saw the little scene play out. One user, who uploaded the closing seconds of the debate on Twitter pointed out: "Anybody else notice how Joe said bye to Trump and he didn't and then he proceeded to jerk Melania's hand off? He also pushed her. Like he was pissed lol. You can see her flinched by it." Another user posted: "Well, Melania Trump Ripped Her Hand Away From Donald Trump's After The Debate. She has done this several times during his presidency."
Melania Trump doesn't seem to like holding Donald Trump's hand
Members of social media aren't the only ones who are asking questions over the seemingly odd exchange of the first couple. And as Cosmopolitan point out, this wouldn't be the first time that Melania has actively avoided holding the president's hand. In fact, this awkward exchange between the president and first lady happens nearly every time they step out in public, even if cameras are nearby.
It's not like Melania doesn't try to be supportive. As she shares with her onetime friend and former aide Stephanie Winston Wolkoff in a secretly recorded audio clip: "They say I'm complicit. I'm the same like him, I support him. I don't say enough I don't do enough where I am. I'm working my ass off on the Christmas stuff, that you know, who gives a f*** about the Christmas stuff and decorations? But I need to do it, right?" (via Elle).
Whatever it might be, she definitely has her reasons for avoiding any forms of PDA. Maybe we'll get to hear about them some day.
