The Best Dressed Stars At The 2020 CMT Awards
Country music stars dazzled fans with more than just their soulful voices at Wednesday night's CMT Music Awards. Sure, it's 2020 and we have no idea what to expect from an awards show anymore — will there even be a red carpet? Sigh. We miss the red carpet. Thankfully, Nashville's biggest names brought their star power to the awards show voted on by country music fans.
Notably, co-host Sarah Hyland treated us to several looks throughout the evening, slaying them all (we loved the separates, Sarah!). Meanwhile, pregnant Mickey Guyton bumped up the glam in a golden gown that could just as easily have worked at the Oscars. Although there wasn't necessarily a major fashion trend of the evening, what we did notice was how each star owned their uniqueness. From Noah Cyrus to Caylee Hammack, here are the CMT Music Awards outfits everyone will be talking about.
Sarah Hyland chose to express her individuality
At least Sarah Hyland could be assured no one else would be wearing her look on the CMT Music Awards red carpet! The actress chose bejeweled pink and purple separates, including a daring peek-a-boo skirt that featured an oversized black bow for the step and repeat. The Modern Family star shared via Instagram that her matching face mask was designed by Christian Siriano — it was emblazoned with a timely political message: "Vote!" We would definitely vote for her unique style.
Kelsea Ballerini looked like a homecoming queen
Kelsea Ballerini's song "Homecoming Queen" came to life with her CMT Awards look. Her inspiration? According to her Instagram, the glittery mini dress with billowy sleeves and a mock turtleneck was simply about "playin dress up." And why not? Ballerini was nominated in three categories: Female Video, CMT Performance, and Video of the Year. Meanwhile, we're loving the singer's glow. Can we get some makeup tips please?
Caylee Hammack chose a color as vibrant as she is
"Just Friends" singer Caylee Hammack stole the show in a glittering purple jumpsuit that complemented her Reba McEntire-esque red locks perfectly. The bell bottom pants and billowy sleeves served up '70s vibes and we aren't mad about that at all. Instagram was in love with the look, with commenters comparing her to a "modern day Reba," and calling her "a dream" in her "radiant" outfit.
Mickey Guyton made pregnancy sexy
Mickey Guyton glowed on the CMT Awards step and repeat, showing off her baby bump in a shimmery gown that was over-the-top flattering. The "Black Like Me" singer announced she was expecting her first child in August, according to Taste of Country. "My life completely changed in an instant. Literally nothing else matters," she shared on Instagram. Guyton also promoted her performance of "Heaven Down Here" on Instagram and further showed off her eye-catching look.
Ingrid Andress showed some skin
"It's the best feeling to get on stage and perform again," country artist Ingrid Andress said about her CMT Music Awards experience (via Instagram). We are loving her look — which was decidedly "uncountry." Indeed, the "More Hearts Than Mine" singer rocked a pair of super tight black pants and a matching bustier. A high ponytail finished the sexy style and served up major Barbarella vibes in the process.
Noah Cyrus dared to bare almost everything
We weren't surprised that "This Is Us" singer Noah Cyrus went daring for her CMT Awards performance. Okay, we were kinda surprised by just how daring her outfit was. One thing is for sure: Everyone is buzzing about her rhinestone-adorned cowgirl hat, gloves, G-string, and boots. But if anyone can pull this off, it's Cyrus.
