Ashley McBryde Reveals How She Really Feels About Co-Hosting The CMT Awards
Ashley McBryde certainly is having a banner year as we approach the CMT Music Awards. Lauded as country music's only fan-voted awards show, the CMTs feature McBryde as a nominee for Video of the Year, Female Video of the Year, and CMT Performance of the Year (per CMT News). She'll also be performing hit single "One Night Standards," as well as hosting the event with Kane Brown and Sarah Hyland.
But that doesn't meant the 37-year-old singer is getting a big head. In an interview with People, she shared the spotlight: "Luckily, it's not all about me. It's about celebrating badass music videos and the brilliant men and women that help us create them." She added, "I've loved watching and being part of this event in the past and I think the fans are really going to enjoy what we have planned for them. It's going to be a blast!" Leslie Fram, Senior Vice President, Music & Strategy with CMT, is happy to have McBryde on board, noting, "She rounds out our hosting trio perfectly and signifies the best and brightest of a new generation of country talent."
Ashley McBryde is beyond excited to co-host the CMT Awards
As for how the country crooner feels about her part in this whole experience? Ashley McBryde is thrilled. "I am beyond excited, and maybe a little nervous, to host an awards show for the very first time" (via People). McBryde has traveled far from her humble Arkansas roots, where she used to sing sad songs at a biker bar, according to her official site. Breaking onto the country music scene as 2019's ACM New Female Artist and the CMA New Artist of the Year, she's been grabbing attention ever since.
And while she may be experiencing some nerves before this year's CMTs, there is one member of her family who seems to be more than ready for the big show: "Opie also got a gift to wear for the [CMTs}! He's crushing it in denim!" McBryde tweeted, along with a photo of her adorable pup sporting a denim jacket emblazoned with the CMT Music Awards logo.
