The Truth About Meghan And Harry's Rumored Reality Show

Royal watchers were excited when a source revealed that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were supposedly working on a new reality series, but it seems they got their hopes up too soon. A source allegedly told The Sun that the series was part of the couple's lucrative Netflix deal.

"They may have had all these lofty ideas about producing epics highlighting environmental causes and the poverty gap, but Netflix obviously want their pound of flesh," said the source. The source added, "Much of the docuseries will be about their philanthropy rather than what they get up to behind closed doors. But it will still be a fascinating insight and Meghan hopes viewers will get to see the real her."

Opinions about the rumored show were mixed. Some were excited about the chance to get a closer look at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, but others thought the concept of a reality show went against everything that Meghan and Harry claim to stand for. "We were told they had gone to California for greater privacy so it all appears rather hypocritical," said Ingrid Seward, the editor of Majesty Magazine.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have denied the reality show rumors

Seward added, "It is extraordinary. This is exactly what they said they wouldn't do. The more they talk about themselves the more people will want them to do just that and won't be interested in anything else they have to offer."

Seward was on to something, because it looks like the reality show isn't actually happening. Royal reporter Omid Scobie debunked the rumor. He tweeted, "Pretty obvious this was false but a Sussex rep says the couple 'are not taking part in any reality shows.' Source adds that the only shows in development now 'are the ones we have previously confirmed' — a nature docu-series and an animated series celebrating inspiring women."

Considering that Meghan and Harry have made a lot of moves this year to stay out of the public eye, it's unlikely that they'll change their minds about embarking on a reality TV career any time soon.
