Where Does Kathie Lee Gifford Live And How Big Is Her House?
When it comes to the entertainment industry, Kathie Lee Gifford has pretty much done it all: She's a singer/songwriter, actress, author, and comedian. Most notably, however, would be her role as consummate daytime TV host. She spent 15 years as the co-host of Live! With Regis and Kathie Lee, and she recently retired from the fourth hour of TODAY with Kathie Lee & Hoda after 11 years (via Velvet Ropes).
During all those years on TV, she lived in a gorgeous estate in the affluent Riverside neighborhood of Greenwich, Ct. The waterfront mansion that overlooks the NYC skyline was where she raised her family and spent many happy years with her late husband, Frank Gifford. And while the house is beloved by both her and her two children, after her retirement from TODAY, Gifford told People she needed a change. The loss of her husband in 2015, and then the loss of her mom in 2017 left Gifford in that giant house all by herself, and, as she described to USA Today, "That huge beautiful memory-filled home was like a morgue to me."
That change came in a newfound focus on her music career, plus writing and directing movies. But, in order to immerse herself in her artistic endeavors, she wanted to surround herself in an enclave of like-minded creatives, and that led her to Nashville, Tennessee (via Distractify).
Kathie Lee Gifford bought a huge brownstone in Music City
In July 2019, Gifford bought and moved into a two-story, 7,965-square-foot brownstone that she paid $3.7 million for in the suburb of Franklin, just outside of Nashville (via Closer Weekly). It just so happens to be the second brownstone she owns in the town, although she has made the newer purchase her primary residence. It boasts a sprawling kitchen with new granite countertops, vaulted ceilings, a finished basement, and plenty of extra bedrooms and bathrooms for friends and relatives to visit. Gifford told former co-host Hoda Kotb in a visit to the Today set in 2019 that she's happier than she's been in "years and years and years."
The creative culture she's found in Tennessee has obviously inspired her. Since her move south, Gifford has written two books, a children's book titled The Gift I Can Give, and a book for adults about her religious journey. Additionally, she wrote, produced and co-starred with comedian Craig Ferguson in an upcoming romantic comedy called Then Came You, and she's also been featured in two Hallmark holiday movies. Not only that, but her Christian music pursuits are also beginning to take off (via Distractify). The brownstone sounds like the perfect backdrop for this next stage of Kathie Lee Gifford's life.
