The Kissing Booth 3 Was Secretly Filmed. Here's What We Know
While The Kissing Booth 2, the sequel to the hit Netflix film The Kissing Booth, just came out, we already have details on the third installment of the series. While we'd normally have to wait around for a big announcement about whether there would be a third film in the franchise, Netflix announced after The Kissing Booth 2 was released that not only will there be a third film but that it has already been made.
That's right, The Kissing Booth 3 was secretly filmed alongside The Kissing Booth 2. The film is in post-production and is set to debut on Netflix in 2021. As noted by Deadline, the whole cast — including Joey King, Jacob Elordi, Joel Courtney, Taylor Zakhar Perez, and Molly Ringwald — is returning for The Kissing Booth 3. "It was the hardest secret to keep," said Courtney on a live event streamed on the Netflix YouTube channel.
Here's what we know about the plot of The Kissing Booth 3
Vince Marcello, who adapted and directed The Kissing Booth and The Kissing Booth 2, co-wrote the script for The Kissing Booth 3 with Jay Arnold. Marcello also produced the film.
The Kissing Booth 3 will pick up where The Kissing Booth 2 left off. The second installment of the series ends in a cliffhanger, with Elle torn between following her boyfriend, Noah, to Harvard or going to Berkeley with her best friend, Lee. Netflix released a teaser for the film on YouTube, which shows Elle declining a call from Harvard as she hangs out with Noah and Lee, hinting at the drama to come in The Kissing Booth 3.
"From the first movie to the second movie just coming out... I mean the explosion of love has been so real," said King during the live event. "It's because of everyone on here that all of this has happened."
