The Reason Brad Womack Was Cast As The Bachelor Twice

In 2007, Bachelor Brad Womack made history when he didn't select either of his final two contestants (via ET). He rejected both Jenni Croft and DeAnna Pappas, earning the title of "the most hated man in America," according to E! So why was Womack invited back to be the Bachelor again?

According to host Chris Harrison, all he had to do was ask. In an interview with TV Guide, Harrison revealed that in 2010, Brad asked producers if he could come back to the show. They realized that this time, Brad was serious about finding love. According to Us Weekly, he had gone to therapy and tackled the issues that had led to his commitment-phobia. Plus, it didn't hurt that the previous season's runner up, Chris Lambton, the previous season's runner-up, had declined the Bachelor gig. Since Brad was single and available and still had his six-pack abs, Bachelor producers offered the Texas bar owner his chance to be the Bachelor all over again.

Brad Womack says there is no third season of The Bachelor in his future

Brad's second season went much better than his first. Brad made connections with future Bachelorette Ashley Hebert and runner-up Chantal O'Brien (via ET). This time, the season ended with a proposal when Brad got down on one knee for Emily Maynard. Unfortunately, the relationship didn't last long. In a recent interview (via People), Emily, who was just 24 at the time, said she "didn't have the maturity to deal with all of that."

Recently, fans got to relive all the drama when both of Brad's seasons were featured on The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons — Ever! During the special, Brad appeared for a video interview with Chris Harrison while rocking some silver hair and a beard. When Chris asked if Brad would ever return for a third season, Brad gave an emphatic answer. "I will not do it a third time. I promise you," he told Chris with a laugh. Brad is currently single, in case anyone's looking for some non-televised love.
