The Real Reason 90 Day Fiance's Big Ed And Rosemarie Broke Up

The path to true love rarely runs smoothly, but for 90 Day Fiancé's "Big Ed" and Rosemarie it's been particularly turbulent. The couple came under fire from fans queasy over their 30-year age gap, while Big Ed has been accused of mistreating his lady, especially when he told her to shave her legs, to take an STD test, and when he accused her of having bad breath. Although Big Ed expressed regret for his behavior, he also downplayed it, telling ET, "I got a lot of heat for that [shaving incident], but that's what that was."

He's even admitted to being initially attracted to Rosemarie because, as a much younger woman, she gave him more attention than he was used to. Big Ed was also caught out for lying to her, admitting to ET in a separate interview, "I wasn't completely honest with Rose about [my height] and a couple of other things It's never a good idea to lie. You have to be honest and I'm learning that even if you have strong feelings for someone, it's better to get it out in the open. If not, it's gonna come back and bite you."

After trying to make things work for months, it seems Big Ed's behavior has really come back to bite him in a big way as the couple have officially called time on their relationship.

The couple had opposing ideas about children

On a recent episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, the couple was at war with each other over Big Ed's sudden refusal to have children with Rosemarie. The 23-year-old pointed out how she had made it clear what kind of life she wanted before Ed traveled all the way to the Philippines to be with her, and that her dream was to have more children. She pointed out that he had lied about both his own plans and his desire to get a vasectomy. Rosemarie and Big Ed both have children from previous relationships, but Ed, whose daughter is 29, isn't interested in starting over — something he hadn't disclosed previously.

Rosemarie then proceeded to list everything that Big Ed had ever done wrong, admitting, "I'm disappointed because you always embarrass me. I always give you a chance, right? But you do not deserve [it]" (via ET). Although Ed claimed to be shocked to learn Rosemarie was so unhappy, when he sarcastically told her, "OK, so I'm the bad guy," she finally had enough and stormed off to pack her things, telling the cameras she regretted leaving her son to be with Ed in the first place. He admitted to being shocked in an interview with producers, and later found Rosemarie gone when he returned to their hotel room.

Rosemarie promised the truth will come out soon enough

Fans won't have to wait too much longer to find out what happened with Big Ed and Rosemarie outside of the show as the spurned 90 Day Fiancé star recently announced she's launching a YouTube channel to share her side of the story. "The funny, true and cheerful Rose that you loved in the 90 Day Fiancé will also be the same Rose that will be seen in every video on my YouTube channel. Nothing has changed, except for me being much stronger and positive in life because of all your love and supports," she wrote in an Instagram post.

She went on to thank everybody for standing by her and sending her so much love. "I might be poor but I am [sic] raised to always tell the truth and be respectful of others! But I also know when enough is enough. Watch me as I speak the truth soon!" Rosemarie wrote in a follow-up message on Instagram.

90 Day Fiance's Big Ed and Rosemarie had very different reactions to the breakup

Rosemarie previously trashed Big Ed during an Instagram Live session last month, as reported by The Blast at the time. "People don't believe him," she urged those watching, "He doesn't really care about me. He just wants to be famous, that's why he's doing that." Rosemarie further claimed, "All the words out of his mouth are lies. It's not at all true." Then, speaking directly to Ed, "You are always liar. You are a liar. It's fake. All this is lies."

Ed appears to be doing great in the wake of the split, telling followers during an Instagram Live chat over the weekend that he's not affected by all the "hate" towards him. Ed even claimed to have received 37 marriage proposals (in a row!?) since the split became public news. He joked, "I've accepted every one of them," (via The Blast). The 90 Day Fiancé star was unrecognizable in throwback photos recently posted online, which likely garnered him some more female fans hoping he might get back to his former glory some day.
