How Many Love Island Couples Are Still Together?

Dating shows like Love Island can be some of the most addicting series to watch when it comes to reality TV. While fans of The Bachelor – an industry standard when it comes to reality dating series – get together to host elaborate watch parties while becoming engrossed in strangers' love lives, Love Island took the world by storm particularly in the 2010s and became a favorite reality TV series, according to Time

One fan of the show told Time that she loves Love Island because "the premise is so ridiculous — to fall in love with one of maybe 15 possible partners within two months, and yet so many of the contestants seem genuinely committed to it." But just how committed are the couples who come out of the show? By now, U.S. fans of The Bachelor know well that reality TV break-ups can be devastating, and, while that's true of Love Island, too, the show has also served as the foundation for lasting relationships. Here are the Love Island couples who are still together.

Love Island couple Dom Lever and Jess Shears defied the odds and got married

Love Island fans got to know Dom Lever and Jess Shears on the 2017 edition of the reality dating show. According to The Mirror, Lever and Shears were together from the very beginning, when Shears split up Lever and his then-partner Montana Brown. From then on, it seemed to be smooth-sailing for the couple. Until Day 17.

Shears was eliminated alongside Mike Thalassitis, leaving Lever on his own. In an interview with Digital Spy, Shears explained she convinced Lever to stay on the show. That's when Shears' and Lever's relationship was put to the test. According to The Mirror, Shears faced allegations she cheated on Lever after leaving the villa. Understandably, when word of Shears' alleged betrayal reached Lever, it only made matters worse. Luckily for the couple, Lever himself was eliminated from the series 11 days later.

Then, per The Mirror, it was full steam ahead for the Love Island couple as they reconciled outside of the villa. According to OK! magazine (via Cosmopolitan), just three months after the couple originally met on Love Island, Lever proposed. A year later, they tied the knot.

Love Island couple Jamie Jewitt and Camilla Thurlow moved in together

Jamie Jewitt and Camilla Thurlow are one of several success stories from the 2017 edition of Love Island. According to the Daily Mail, Thurlow was not having any luck on the series until Jamie Jewitt arrived. Thurlow told the outlet, "We were quite fortunate in that we met and had this amazing time on the show which was three weeks from the end."

Though the couple had just three weeks together in the villa, they've proven that it was more than enough time to build a foundation for a strong relationship. According to the Daily Mail, 18 months after the couple met in 2017, they moved in together. While other couples from their season have already married and started families, according to the Daily Mail, Jewitt and Thurlow have taken their relationship moment by moment and have progressed at their own pace.

While the Love Island couple's relationship might be progressing slowly when compared to other reality TV relationships, that doesn't mean a wedding isn't in their future. Thurlow told the Daily Mail, "We haven't said if it's on or off the cards so we're just seeing how we're getting on. We'll see what's happening."

Love Island couple Nathan Massey and Cara de la Hoyde's relationship has been a roller coaster

Cara de la Hoyde and Nathan Massey won the 2016 edition of Love Island, but, even though they took home the top prize, that didn't guarantee success for their relationship in the real world. According to The Mirror, the couple broke up in 2017. However, around the same time as their break-up, de la Hoyde found out she was expecting their first child together.

According to Cosmopolitan, amid rumors the couple had rekindled their romance, they each posted photos confirming the news on Instagram

In 2018, per The Mirror, Massey proposed to de la Hoyde at the Love Island villa where they first met. A year later, they married in a small ceremony and have been going strong ever since. To prove that, in March 2020, the Love Island couple announced they were expecting their second child together in an Instagram post.

Alex Bowen and Olivia Buckland were the first Love Island couple to get married

Reality dating show success stories are few and far between, just check the success rate of The Bachelor for proof of that. Love Island's first couple to get married came from the show's 2016 edition (via The Sun). Six months after Alex Bowen and Olivia Buckland came in second place on the show, Bowen popped the question while on a romantic New York City vacation, as reported by The Sun.

Buckland told The Mirror of their status as one of the few success stories to come out of the series, "Part of [me] believes it's fate and it just works because it works and it's a rare anomaly that it happened. But then another part of me thinks we did work at it and we trust each other and we also get on really well."

Buckland also noted that she wasn't looking for fame on the series and instead went into it all with an open mind. It certainly worked out well, as she's part of just a few Love Island couples to stay together.

Paige Turley and Finley Tapp won the first winter Love Island

In 2019, Love Island shook things up by announcing, according to Cosmopolitan, that there would be two editions of the show each year going forward. That new set-up began with a winter version of the show in January 2020.

That season began on Jan. 12, 2020, and ended on Feb. 23, 2020, per the Evening Standard. During the six-week run, fans of the show watched eventual winners Love Island couple Paige Turley and Finley Tapp fall in love and successfully endure Casa Amor (via Metro).

According to The Mirror, Turley and Tapp's relationship advanced more quickly than usual after just a few months together. Turley reportedly said, "Although we're not speaking like, 'We're going to get married and have a family now,' we have spoken about it in the long run." First, though, the couple is figuring out where to live. Turley told The Sun, "We've always talked about moving to Manchester, but Finn's trying to persuade me to move to Milton Keynes. He loves it there."

Love Island couple Luke Trotman and Siannise Fudge didn't win the money, but they found each other

According to the Daily Mail, Luke Trotman and Siannise Fudge were favorites to win the 2020 winter season of Love Island. So when Paige Turley and Finn Tapp were crowned the winners instead, everyone was shocked. Tapp himself expressed his shock when the announcement was made.

Though Trotman and Fudge may not have won the top prize, they definitely didn't lose either, as they got to leave the show together as a couple. Per the Daily Mail, Siannise Fudge's early days in the Love Island villa were difficult as she struggled to find someone who was her type. But once she coupled with Trotman, the two quickly became fan favorites.

Since their season ended, the Love Island couple has continued their romance by visiting Disneyland Paris together and hinting that they may be looking for a home (via Daily Mail). Perhaps even more telling about the status of their relationship is that Trotman's friend Luke Mabbott revealed an engagement was on the horizon in an April 2020 YouTube Q&A.

Love Island couple Eva Zapico and Nas Majeed are exclusive despite the rumors

Eva Zapico and Nas Majeed's relationship on Love Island was filled with drama, according to the Daily Mail. Nas Majeed went into Casa Amor paired with Demi Jones. However, Zapico quickly caught his attention, leading to a painful break-up with Jones.

Despite their rocky beginning, Zapico and Majeed are going strong. According to a March 2020 episode of BBC's The Reality Tea podcast, Zapico received Majeed's family's stamp of approval. However, the Daily Mail reported the couple faced split rumors after they went a few days without posting together. These rumors were quickly dispelled though, as they posted a series of photos together on Instagram. In one, Zapico sarcastically wrote, "I haven't seen this person in so long does anyone [recognize] this man??"

The rumors were likely fueled by sentiments that the Love Island couple was not really that into each other, according to what was shown on TV. Per the Daily Mail, Majeed commented that, because of how many people were in the villa and the show's editing, it was "quite tough to follow mine and her journey but we were so close in there especially for the last few days."

Love Island couple Jess Gale and Ched Uzor denied split rumors

Jess Gale and Ched Uzor of the 2020 winter Love Island season were voted off on the show's finale, as reported by The Mirror. Since then, they've been going strong as a couple.

Throughout the season, Gale struggled to find a partner, but the controversial Casa Amor proved to be her ticket to finding love on the reality series (via The Mirror). Throughout the couple's time together in the villa, fans saw them become more serious and reveal they considered themselves an exclusive couple.

Post-show, however, the couple faced breakup rumors after not posting together or being seen with each other in some time. According to Cosmopolitan, Gale addressed these rumors on Instagram, saying, "I feel like we are maybe quite private and I don't feel the need to plaster him all over social media whenever we do something or whenever we go out." She added, "We put our phones away and enjoy each other's company."

Unlike other Love Island couples, though, Gale and Uzor aren't rushing their relationship. According to Cosmopolitan, Gale said the couple isn't official yet and are instead taking their time getting to know each other away from cameras.

Love Island couple Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague have sparked engagement rumors

Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague coupled up early on Love Island's 2019 season but eventually lost out on the £50,000 prize to Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea. However, Fury and Hague might be the real winners of the season, as they're a couple that is still going strong.

According to Heart Radio, Fury revealed that the couple's next move after they shared they loved each other would be to move in together. In September 2019, The Mirror reported that the couple did just that. If that wasn't serious enough, The Mirror also noted that Fury had told OK! magazine that he had already planned out how he would propose to Hague when the couple was ready to take that step.

While that engagement hasn't happened — yet — according to The Mirror, Fury did surprise Hague with a romantic night at swanky London hotel The Shard. The Love Island couple's posts from the date night included a glimpse at a beautiful gold diamond ring on Hague's index finger.
