ABC Has Bad News For Fans Waiting On The Bachelor: Summer Games

Sorry, Bachelor Nation, but you won't be able to watch The Bachelor: Summer Games this year. While the news isn't too crushing considering that the show wasn't officially announced, it still comes as a disappointment to know that we could have seen former Bachelor and Bachelorette contestants competing in challenges and looking for love on our TV screens this summer.

According to Deadline, the show would have followed in the same vein as The Bachelor: Winter Games, which aired in 2018 alongside the Winter Olympics. Since the show was meant to coincide with the 2020 Summer Olympics, it was moved to 2021 as the Tokyo Olympics have been postponed to next year due to the coronavirus outbreak.

This isn't the only Bachelor show affected by the coronavirus pandemic

This isn't the only Bachelor spin-off to be affected by the pandemic. Clare Crawley's season of The Bachelorette was set to air in May, but was also postponed due to COVID-19 — it's kind of hard to practice social distancing while dating a mansion full of men, after all. "Until we can do this show and do it safely, we won't do it," show host Chris Harrison told People. "Right now we are just on hold and it's being postponed. But we're all chomping at the bit to get back to it and to have Clare be our Bachelorette."

While this is sad news for Bachelor Nation fans, it will at least give everyone some time to recover from the shocking results of Peter Weber's Bachelor season. In the meantime, fans will have to sate their appetites with The Bachelor: Listen To Your Heart, a musical spin on The Bachelor franchise which is set to premiere on April 13.

There's also plenty of Bachelor Nation gossip to tide us over. Hopefully by the time The Bachelor: Summer Games airs we'll finally know what's really going on with Peter Weber and Kelley Flanagan.
