How Jonathan Scott Shows His Affection For Girlfriend Zooey Deschanel
Property Brothers fans were shocked when their fave perennial bachelor and nerdy Canadian hooked up with an A-list actress. Everybody scrambled to learn about Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Scott's relationship, and we were understandably shocked when the hot new couple shared a PDA at a DWTS taping.
The past few months have been relatively quiet on the Jonathan-Zooey front, though they were spotted attending events together, most notably the Property Brothers' other brother, JD Scott's Halloween wedding. Although they're not the showiest showbiz couple, there's at least one way that Scott, in particular, shows how he feels about the 300 Days of Summer star.
Jonathan Scott makes his feelings very public
Scott and Deschanel started dating in September of last year, as reported by People at the time, becoming Instagram official the following month via some fun Halloween snaps. It seems the site is key to their blossoming relationship, as it's predominantly where the Property Brothers' star shows how doe-eyed he is for his lady love. In fact, basically whenever Deschanel posts a new pic, Scott comments something sweet, like describing her as his "perfect date," for instance.
Other times, he posts the tried-and-trusted heart-eye emojis, but often Scott pours his heart out for real, writing, "You're as beautiful on the inside as you are on the outside," or offering to be her "backup dancer" on another, to which Deschanel cheekily responded, "Please wear sequins."
Nobody is more surprised about his girlfriend than Jonathan Scott
The Property Brothers star recently gushed about his new relationship during an appearance on TODAY with Hoda & Jenna, with Drew, while promoting their new magazine, Reveal, as reported by Parade. "She brings out the best in me. She makes me want to be the best version of myself," he admitted of Deschanel, who also contributed to the magazine. His brother took the opportunity to confirm, "I haven't seen him smile like this in a very long time, and I think it's amazing to see him so happy."
Scott further gushed to People, "I have never been in a relationship where my partner is as romantic as, if not more romantic than, I am. I'm usually the one who carries the romantic load." He did admit, however, that the pairing is just as surprising to him as everybody else. "I don't think it was expected. ...The internet is obsessed and keeps posting [about us], but the funniest thing is everyone's like, 'She's dating who?!'"
