What Is Sarah Huckabee Sanders Relationship Like With Her 3 Kids?
Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders proudly wears several capes in her personal and professional lives. She's a Christian, a proud Arkansan, a wife, and President Donald Trump's former press secretary, per her Instagram. But she's also a mom.
Huckabee Sanders, alongside her husband, Bryan Sanders, is happily raising their three children: Two sons, Huck and George, and a daughter, Scarlett. Life as a politician's children has afforded the Sanders kids opportunities some young ones could only dream of, like having dinner at the White House or meeting football players and cheerleaders during the Super Bowl. However, Sanders has also shown her family spending time together in capacities average clans could relate to, including taking in the April 8, 2024 solar eclipse and hunting during Thanksgiving 2024. The latter memory was filled with ample laughter and unforgettable moments, per Sanders, and perhaps epitomizes the family's relationship. "We missed more than we shot, laughed more than we cried and made more memories than we can count," Sanders wrote on Instagram. Although Sanders is recognized for her history-making political career thus far, she said motherhood is undoubtedly her favorite job. "Love being their mom," she wrote in a May 2024 Instagram post. "Best job ever."
She's involved her kids in politics
Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders doesn't only enjoy being a mom. She also loves exposing her children to the American political system. Nothing screams a fun family outing more than when Sanders brought her entire crew to cast her vote for President Donald Trump in November 2024. "Proud to cast our votes for President Trump!" she wrote in an Instagram post. "He loves our country and I know he will fight for every one of us. Get out and vote America!" Her kids have also tagged along for events like a charity basketball game between the Arkansas governor's office and senate, to, again, submit a vote with their mother during the 2022 Arkansas gubernatorial election, and to celebrate with Sanders after her election.
Everything hasn't been as pleasant as ballots and basketballs, however. Sanders told "The View" in 2020 that her kids have also witnessed the uglier side of politics, including when she has to dodge aggressive critics and violent detractors. "I once had a woman, while I was walking, holding my three-year-old's hand, tell me I was a horrible person and turn and spit on our car," Sanders said in a YouTube clip. Though Sanders seems happy to include her kids in her public political activities, tense moments like this bring into question whether she should be involving them in her political life as often as she does.
