How Counting On Fans Knew John David And Abbie Duggar Are Having A Girl

Counting On fans were thrilled at the beginning of August when John David Duggar and Abbie Duggar revealed that they are expecting their first baby. On August 20, the Duggars announced that they are having a girl, but most of their fans weren't surprised by the reveal.

On August 19, the day before the official announcement, John David and Abbie shared a sweet photo of them kissing on Instagram with John David wearing blue, and Abbie clad in pink. The photo was taken at their reveal party, and posted with a caption that reads, "Boy or girl, what's your guess??" While the couple didn't answer the question, fans were quick to point out in the comments that the grass behind the couple was covered with pink confetti. The official announcement proved the fans were right in guessing that the baby is a girl. "I'm so excited about hair bows and pink dresses and lots of sparkles," Abbie gushed in the announcement video from TLC.

John David also expressed his excitement, saying, "I'm really looking forward to having a little baby girl around the house. I already have one, now I'm going to have two. I just hope she's as pretty as her mommy, I know she will be!"

Baby girl Duggar won't be the only new baby in the Duggar family in the coming months. Lauren Duggar, Anna Duggar, Jessa Seewald, Joy-Anna Forsyth, and Kendra Duggar are also expecting babies in the next few months, as is Amy King, a cousin of the Duggar clan. 

John David and Abbie seem thrilled that they are about to become parents. "We are on Cloud 9 about welcoming our own little Duggar into the world!!!" they recently wrote in an Instagram post to announce the happy news. "It really is amazing to think about being parents and having our own child to raise. We are thankful that God has blessed us with this new life and we look forward to taking on this new adventure!"
