All Of The Famous People Gigi Hadid Has Dated
Supermodel Gigi Hadid has had one of the most successful modeling careers within the last five years. From walking fashion shows for Versace, Prada, and Givenchy, to strutting the Victoria's Secret fashion show with her sister Bella Hadid and even gracing the covers of magazines like Vogue, Allure, and Instyle, she has already made a huge mark in her modeling career.
Given her renowned supermodel status and household name, it's no question the model has had her fair share of elite A-list boyfriends over the years — with her most famous relationship being with former One Direction singer Zayn Malik, who fathered his and Hadid's firstborn daughter, Khai.
Although Hadid is currently single, her main priority has been being a mother to her daughter. "[She's been] turning down business opportunities so that she can spend the first year with her baby," an insider alleged to Us Weekly in October 2022. Between juggling her modeling career and being a mother to her daughter, Hadid likely has little time for a serious relationship right now, but that doesn't mean she hasn't made time to pursue casual prospects.
To find out more about some of the famous celebrities supermodel Gigi Hadid has dated, let's take a look at the highlights of each relationship.
Cody Simpson
Australian singer Cody Simpson and Hadid began dating in 2013, marking Hadid's first serious relationship around the age of 17. In an interview with Teen Vogue, Simpson revealed that it was basically love at first sight. "My friend and I drove past a Guess store, and I was immediately infatuated by this chick," he said. Luckily for Simpson, his friend happened to know Hadid already and offered to introduce the two.
Hadid made quite the impression on Simpson that he even included her in his music video for his song "Surfboard," which dropped in April 2014. In the video, the couple certainly didn't shy away from their affection for each other and started to share a steamy kiss.
Over the course of two years, the couple went through an on-and-off relationship but officially broke up in May 2015 due to long-distance and busy schedules, making time for each other difficult. However, the couple ended things rather maturely on good terms and have had nothing but nice things to say about each other. "I love Cody to death and he loves me," Hadid told Women's Wear Daily after their first split in 2014. "And he needed his time to focus on his music... We're still best friends and I'll always respect him and support his career." In an interview with The Sydney Morning Herald in 2020, Simpson also spoke highly of Hadid noting that he has "always enjoyed being with independent women who are strong individuals."
Joe Jonas
Gigi Hadid first met Joe Jonas at the Grammy's in 2010 when he was 19 years old and she was just 13, which later sparked a lot of controversy around their age gap. According to Hadid, Jonas asked her to go to a baseball game at the time, which Hadid politely declined. Since Hadid was so young and inexperienced when it came to boys, she was too nervous to agree to a date, noting, "And also, Grammys are on a Sunday, and I didn't want to tell him that I had school the next day, so I was like, 'No, maybe next time,'" Hadid said in an interview via Periscope. But that didn't stop the Jonas brother from giving Hadid's mom his number, which led to a friendship that lasted for years until it eventually blossomed into a romantic relationship.
The two first sparked relationship rumors in 2015 after photos emerged of the two hanging out together and after sources confirmed to E! News that they were in fact an item. "They never really stopped caring about each other. Things are going really well for them," a source revealed to E! News.
The couple dated for about five months and parted ways amicably due to conflicting schedules and, according to sources via People, there were no hard feelings. "Nothing serious happened ... it wasn't a dramatic break up," a source told People. "It was just hard to make it work with their schedules. They will definitely remain friends."
Lewis Hamilton
After ending a seven-year relationship with Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger, F1 race car driver Lewis Hamilton was spotted on several occasions hanging out with Gigi Hadid. The two first sparked dating rumors after sitting closely together at a charity gala dinner that took place in May 2015.
During that same month, Hamilton was spotted wrapping his arms around Hadid at the Monaco Grand Prix. Hadid even gushed about Lewis in a sweet post on her Instagram. The Instagram post featured a group photo of the two with Hadid's sister Bella Hadid and close friend Kendall Jenner. The caption read: "We love you @lewishamilton. Everyone knows you da champ. #TEAMLH." Although they didn't make their relationship official to the public, the two were often seen cozying up together and attending events with each other, but their otherwise casual relationship eventually fizzled out.
However, despite things not working out for them romantically, it appears the two still remained good friends after appearing in a lighthearted Tommy Hilfiger campaign together in 2018. In the campaign, Hadid and Hamilton take turns driving around the race track together. Initially, Hadid does the driving and pretends she has no idea who Hamilton is by asking questions like "What do you do?" while attempting to appear as a professional race car driver herself, but once it's Hamilton's turn to drive, he puts Hadid's skills to the test, giving her quite the memorable joy ride.
Zayn Malik
Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid have become practically synonymous with each other after dating on and off for over six years. The couple first sparked dating rumors in 2016 after Malik released a sultry music video for his song "Pillowtalk," which featured none other than Hadid. In an interview with the "Zach Sang Show," Malik confirmed the relationship after being asked by the co-host, "Was it cool to have your girlfriend in the video?"
Over the years, the couple went through the classic on-and-off cycle — one major reconciliation being in 2020 after their breakup in Jan 2019. That same year, Hadid and Malik shared that they were expecting their first baby, Khai Hadid Malik, who was born in September 2020.
Unfortunately, the couple split ways in October 2021 due to many different conflicts including one between Malik and Hadid's mom, Yolanda Hadid, where they got into a huge altercation with sources alleging Zayn pushed her. TMZ reported that Malik said, "I adamantly deny striking Yolanda Hadid." However, he allegedly told her to "stay away from [my] f***ing daughter," according to Vanity Fair. Hadid and Malik have since managed to maintain a healthy co-parenting relationship making their daughter their main priority. "Zayn felt that Yolanda was getting in the middle of things," a source told Entertainment Tonight. Malik and Hadid are "both very committed to working together to co-parent Khai and love her with all their hearts," the source added.
Tyler Cameron
Tyler Cameron and Hadid met on Instagram before Cameron rose to fame from his appearance as a contestant on Hannah Brown's season of "The Bachelorette" and famously getting snubbed as Hannah Brown's final choice, which was Jed Wyatt, who supposedly had a serious girlfriend. However, Hadid knew of Cameron before his appearance on "The Bachelorette," according to insiders. "Tyler and Gigi actually have a few mutual friends in the modeling industry, but met on Instagram," an insider told E! News. "She knew of him before he got any wind of fame from the Bachelorette."
After rumors emerged of a potential relationship, Hadid and Cameron shared a few public outings together, with one instance being at an NYC restaurant called Le Turtle and then back to Hadid's apartment, where the two spent the night together. "He really likes Gigi, but it's just a fling for now," a source told E! News. "They are both gorgeous and single and they've had fun spending time together. He's living in the moment and not thinking too much past that."
After a month of dating, Cameron and Hadid made headlines after he accompanied Hadid to her grandmother's funeral. Their relationship, however, was short-lived and ended amicably after two months due to being at different life stages, Cameron told People TV's Reality Check
Leonardo DiCaprio
The pair began a casual relationship in September 2022 shortly after Leonardo DiCaprio split from his girlfriend of four years, model and actress Camila Morrone. "They are getting to know each other," a source told People in September 2022. "Leo is definitely pursuing Gigi," another source said. That same month, the two were also seen at a NYC fashion week afterparty together and also attended a Halloween party together in October.
However, the attraction wasn't as mutual, according to a source from US Weekly. "Leo does have his sights set on Gigi, but she hasn't shown an interest," the source told Us Weekly. "They're friends, but she doesn't want to be romantic with [him] right now."
In January 2023, Entertainment Tonight revealed that Hadid and DiCaprio may have an open relationship or an ongoing on/off fling with no expectations. "Leo and Gigi have enjoyed their time together when they're able to see each other, but when they're busy with various commitments, they're doing their own things and they are not exclusive," the source told Entertainment Tonight. "They have respect for one another and have always just been seeing where things go."
The two have kept their relationship very private for the most part but seem to be involved in some capacity, whether that be romantic or platonic. Hadid and DiCaprio were last seen together in May 2023 around 2 a.m. leaving an event separately but just a few minutes apart.
