What We Know About Hallmark's Latest Love Flick Wedding Season
It's nearly time for Hallmark's "June Weddings" movie event, which features old and new wedding-themed romance flicks all throughout June. With this summer month being one of the most popular times of the year to get married, we think it's also the perfect moment to indulge in some lighthearted, movie happily-ever-after romances.
While the month-long network event will feature some classics like "A Country Wedding," "Stop the Wedding," and "The Last Bridesmaid," the network is releasing four new movies with promising cast lists and premises, each premiering on a Saturday. In addition to "Love's Greek to Me," "The Wedding Contract," and "Make Me a Match," you'll want to RSVP to "Wedding Season," the first new movie debuting this June.
Coming in June, this romance stars Stephanie Bennett of "Christmas Class Reunion" and Casey Deidrick of "Days of Our Lives" fame. Here's everything we know about Hallmark's upcoming "Wedding Season."
Stephanie Bennett stars as a date-less bridesmaid
In "Wedding Season," Stephanie Bennett plays Trish, a journalist committed to being a bridesmaid in the back-to-back weddings of her three best friends. When she finds herself without a date, Trish's friend Sean (Nathanael Vass) suggests that she pair up with his brother Ryan (Casey Deidrick) for the events, a photographer who she knows from high school.
As she begins writing an article based on her experiences throughout the three weddings, Trish finds that the wedding season is much easier to endure with the right partner. In addition to Bennett and Deidrick, viewers can expect appearances from Francesca Bianchi, Jill Morrison, Drew Henderson, and Davin Tong.
A Hallmark Media/Lighthouse Picture Inc. production, "Wedding Season" was directed by David Weaver and written by Elena Zaretsky. The movie will premiere on Saturday, June 3rd at 8 p.m. ET. For a first look at "Wedding Season," check out the trailer on Hallmark's website.
Where you'll recognize Bennett and Deidrick from
Avid watchers of the Hallmark channel may recognize the leads of "Wedding Season" from other Hallmark movies, with Stephanie Bennett appearing in "The Nine Lives of Christmas" and "The Last Bridesmaid" while Casey Deidrick starred in "A Very Merry Bridesmaid" with Emily Osment. Though they do have a bit of history on the network, it's more likely that you'll recognize the leading actors from their roles outside of Hallmark.
As mentioned, Deidrick is best known for his time as a series regular on "Days of Our Lives," playing Chad DiMera from 2009 to 2013. While he has appeared in a number of TV shows as a guest, including "Glee" and "Teen Wolf," he starred in the MTV thriller series "Eye Candy" in 2015 and the CW show "In The Dark" from 2019 to 2022.
Bennett also has a smattering of guest appearances in popular shows, appearing in nine episodes of Freeform's "Shadowhunters," five episodes of the Lifetime drama "UnREAL," and four episodes of the sci-fi show "Travelers." She was also cast as a lead in the Canadian TV Show "21 Thunder," which was released on Netflix in 2018, and has appeared in a number of made-for-TV movies from Lifetime and UP tv.
