Hallmark Couple Jocelyn Hudon And Jake Manley Married In A 'Low-Maintenance' Las Vegas Way

Hallmark's "Love in the Maldives" premiered in early April 2023. What fans might now know about the film is that co-stars and love interests Jocelyn Hudon and Jake Manley are actually married. While "Love in the Maldives" is the Canadian couple's first Hallmark film together, they have been part of the Hallmark family for years. Hudon previously starred in Hallmark's "When Calls the Heart," "From Friend to Fiance," and more. Back in 2015, Manley had a role in "Northpole: Open for Christmas."

However, "Love in the Maldives" is not the only project Hudon and Manley have worked on together. The pair had roles on the hit Netflix series "The Order." In 2021, they appeared on "One of a Kind Love" for the streaming service Roku.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Hudon explained how she and Manley's relationship began. She said, "We met through our mutual self-tape coach (the person who films our auditions), and we're also with the same acting agent. We ended up driving to our agent's summer party together and have been together ever since." Hudon also opened up to the publication about their romantic engagement. In 2022, she revealed exclusive details to Entertainment Tonight about their "perfect" wedding.

Jake Manley proposed to Jocelyn Hudon with 1,000 roses

In August 2020, Jocelyn Hudon announced on Instagram that she and Jake Manley were engaged. The couple, per Entertainment Tonight, had been together for five years before Manley popped the question. Shortly after the news came to light, Hudon told Entertainment Tonight that Manley proposed with a black diamond ring and a big surprise. She said, "We had just driven six hours from Toronto to Montreal and got to our Airbnb which is about six floors, and after a sweaty walk up all of the flights of stairs, we went up to the rooftop terrace and waiting on the patio was 1,000 red roses. I was so shocked."

Hudon went on to say that the proposal was inspired by the popular TV show "Gilmore Girls." She previously told Parade that she was fond of the series. In the first season of "Gilmore Girls," Lorelai's love interest, Max Medina, proposes to her with 1,000 yellow daisies. This extravagant choice comes after Lorelai proclaims (via Entertainment Weekly) that if she was proposed to, "There should be a thousand yellow daisies, and candles, and a horse, and I don't know what the horse is doing there unless you're riding it, which seems a little over-the-top...."

Hudon said yes to Manley and explained to Entertainment Tonight that she wanted to get married in October. Over a year later, the couple did exactly that and joined the growing list of celebs who have tied the knot in Sin City.

The bride wore black

In her engagement interview with Entertainment Tonight, Jocelyn Hudon said that she wanted to get married in Toronto, Canada, and find her wedding dress on "Say Yes to the Dress." However, she and Jake Manley instead opted for a simple and last-minute affair. They traveled to Las Vegas to tie the knot at A Little White Wedding Chapel. Other celebrity couples that got married in Las Vegas include Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, also well as Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner. But this was not a run-of-a-mill Vegas wedding. Hudon and Manley decided to walk down the aisle on October 31, 2021, a.k.a. Halloween.

Hudon explained to Entertainment Tonight that the couple chose this date because she had the day off from filming. She noted that it took one day to plan the wedding, and Hudon, who wore black, bought her wedding dress from Etsy. An Elvis Presley impersonator dressed as a zombie officiated the nuptials. Hudon told Entertainment Tonight, "I tried to mentally prepare my mom for a strange wedding. I told her that this isn't going to be a perfect, traditional wedding — we're going to get married next to a Cadillac, in a tunnel, and Elvis is dressed as a zombie."

At time of publication, Hudon and Manley are still married. They are also the proud parents of a dog named Rupert.
